Nghe An goods have difficulty entering supermarkets?
(Baonghean) - Nghe An has many specialties, each location and region has its own cuisine, very attractive to diners. However, most of those items are absent from supermarkets.
From the specialty stalls
In recent days, Vinh city consumers have continuously witnessed the opening of clean stores with traditional products of Nghe An origin. That is the Nghe An specialty supermarket - a booth introducing and selling about 50 Nghe An specialty products packaged and labeled according to standards.
This is a booth in the project "Nghe Tinh Specialty Business" of teachers and students of Vinh University with the idea of bringing to consumers specialties imbued with the cultural identity of Nghe people; at the same time, creating connections and consuming agricultural products produced by farmers in big cities.

Mr. Vu Manh Hoang - Director of Nghe Tinh Specialty Trading Company Limited said: In the recent past, members of the Company have had field trips to many regions of Nghe An to clearly understand the origin and quality of the specialties here. We have found many reputable families and establishments producing rare specialties in many different regions such as: Royal jelly, honey, mountain beef, sausage, salted bamboo shoots with garlic and chili, brocade weaving... concentrated in the mountainous districts of Nghe An.
In addition, products such as Nam Dan soy sauce, Xa Doai oranges, Phuc Trach grapefruit; some products have been granted collective trademark protection certificates by the Intellectual Property Office such as Hai Giang 1 fish sauce, Cua Lo grilled mackerel, Thanh Chuong hill chicken are also sold at the supermarket.
Previously, the Provincial Cooperative Union and the Nghe An Safe Agricultural and Food Production and Consumption Cooperative Union held a launching ceremony and opened a booth displaying and introducing Xanh Mart Vinh products. The booth provides a variety of agricultural products produced by farmers in the province with clear origin, ensuring food safety.

Although, in the large city of Vinh, there are few booths introducing and selling local products, clean products, but it opens up a way to connect to produce and consume clean, safe domestic products with clear origin to serve the needs of consumers. However, in supermarkets, local products are still absent, although in reality we do not lack products.
Nghe An goods are still "absent" at supermarkets
Nghe An is a province with a relatively large number of businesses and business households. The whole province has 11,868 businesses and 143,479 households participating in business activities, creating a widely developed trade network with a diverse and growing volume of goods in circulation. Implementing the campaign, the quantity of Vietnamese goods consumed has increased significantly, the group of goods originating in Vietnam has accounted for 90% of the total number of goods sold in supermarkets, accounting for 70% in markets and rural markets. However, from a narrow perspective, Nghe An goods are still absent in large and small supermarkets in the area, why is that?
Typically, some products are quite famous with many brands such as Vinh oranges, Nam Dan soy sauce, Thanh Chuong hill chicken, tea... but these products are all absent from supermarkets, even during the peak season. At the same time, there are many farms, ranches and poultry products, poultry eggs are abundant but these products are also difficult to find in supermarkets.
Coming to MEGA Market Vinh supermarket (formerly Metro Vinh), the goods are abundant but the food stalls are mainly imported from other localities. The presence of goods originating from within the province is very limited, there is only a little pork, beef and green vegetables from TH farm. Ms. H., a saleswoman, said: “Previously, the supermarket had chicken eggs from a farm in Nghi Duc commune, but after a short time, customers did not buy much so we had to import them from Hanoi. The reason is that our products do not have food hygiene and safety certificates and labels…”.
Similarly, at Big C supermarket, there are many products for sale with monthly revenue up to billions of dong, but Nghe An goods are too modest. Currently, only a small amount of beef, pork and spices are imported every day. The reason this supermarket said is because local goods lack both quantity and quality, especially the lack of certificates and certificates of clean production origin...
During our research, we visited the farm of Mr. Vo Van Du's family in Dong Vinh ward (Vinh city). This farm raises more than 12,000 chickens and is granted a quarantine certificate by the city's Veterinary Department, ensuring food safety, making egg consumption easier. Currently, Mr. Du's family's chicken eggs are regularly supplied to Big C supermarket and a few businesses in Nam Cam Industrial Park.
Mr. Du said: “To facilitate livestock farming, especially product output, I registered to establish Du Ngoc Cooperative. Since its establishment, the cooperative has had a seal, registered account number, and legal status, so borrowing capital and importing goods for supermarkets and businesses has also been more convenient. In particular, after having animal quarantine and food safety certificates, the farm always practices clean livestock farming, thereby creating prestige with customers...”.

Meanwhile, Mr. Pham Viet Duc's farm in Hamlet 12, Thanh Huong Commune (Thanh Chuong) raises pigs and chickens in a biological way and has been certified by the Nghe An Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine to meet food safety and hygiene conditions from raising, slaughtering, preserving, and trading livestock and poultry meat products. Therefore, the farm's pork products have been contracted by Maximark supermarket in Vinh City to consume daily products and many collective kitchens have placed orders...
However, the above models and products are not many in Nghe An. Therefore, the competition between domestic goods, foreign goods and foreign goods is increasingly fierce and unequal.
According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Hung - Director of the Trade Promotion Center, Department of Industry and Trade, Nghe An products have made efforts and made many changes, winning the trust and affection of consumers. However, domestic products lack labels, the designs are not beautiful, many products are not registered for food safety. In addition, domestic products are of good quality but limited in quantity, when there are large orders, the quantity is insufficient; not to mention the low discount rate, leading to domestic products being unattractive, difficult to compete at the same price with the same products from other localities...
Faced with fierce competition in the market economy, it is time for domestic goods to have a more professional brand building strategy linking production and distribution.
