Hundreds of Vietnamese Facebook fanpages were locked overnight
Last night and early this morning, many Vietnamese users' fanpages were locked by Facebook for violating community standards.
On the morning of April 5, many Facebook users in Vietnam cried out for help when the fanpages they managed were disabled by this social network.
Accordingly, some account owners encountered a situation where their posts were canceled because their fanpage violated Facebook's community standards on spam. On another fanpage, followers could not see the page's posts because of the same reason of violating community standards.
Facebook did not point out to the fanpage owner the specific post they were violating. Instead, the information the account owner received was only general, stating that the content they posted was considered to contain “violent images, hate speech, harassment, bullying, nudity, etc.”

Mr. Nhan Nguyen - founder of Nhan Nguyen Sharing - a blog specializing in digital said, according to the numbers that this expert knows, hundreds of Facebook fanpages of Vietnamese users have been locked.
“This Facebook sweep has severely affected many fanpages in Vietnam, many large pages with hundreds of thousands of followers have also been affected. Among these, there are fanpages of businesses operating online.”, the expert commented.
According to Mr. Nhan Nguyen, after analysis, the cause of this situation is most likely not due to a system error. It is possible that Facebook has been scanning for violating posts for many years, so the fanpage owners are no longer aware of it.
“It is highly likely that during the process of posting content and advertising, the fanpage administrator made posts that violated the law without paying attention, or assumed that what was wrong was right. There is also a possibility that the violation of the administrator (admin/owner) caused the fanpage to be scanned in connection with it.”he shared.

Having a fanpage blocked by Facebook will cause certain economic losses to fanpage owners, including those who produce, create digital content and do online business. Especially for those who do online business, they may be suspected of fraud by customers when they discover that their fanpage is no longer accessible.
Fanpage owners who have been locked out for violating community standards still have the opportunity to get their pages back by appealing to Facebook. However, according to experts, this is not simple and also takes a lot of time.
