Attractive 'Balance Bike Racing' of Hung Phuc Kindergarten
(Baonghean.vn) - Sporty, vibrant, joyful, and useful are the interesting things that the "Balance Bike Racing Cup 2017" organized by Hung Phuc Kindergarten on the afternoon of March 14th. The competition attracted the participation of nearly 100 racers from classes from 3 to 5 years old. This is one of the recreational activities to comprehensively develop children's intelligence and physical strength; associated with the school's training goal of "learning while playing, playing while developing intelligence".
The competition officially started at 4pm, but for more than an hour, many parents and families of the contestants had gathered at the playground of Hung Phuc Kindergarten to wait, encourage and cheer for the little "racers".
The race was exciting right from the start because the children had never participated in such a special competition before.
Balance bikes are designed and commonly used in developed countries such as Japan, the US and European countries. This type of bike is designed from light and compact materials because some parts such as pedals, training wheels, etc. are removed, so its weight is only under 2kg.
At Hung Phuc Kindergarten, balance bikes are still used by the school in outdoor activities with the purpose of helping children exercise and practice balancing techniques; to develop comprehensive physical strength. From the effectiveness of applying balance bikes in educational programs, this year, the school organized the 2017 Balance Bike Racing Cup.
Hung Phuc Kindergarten was established under Decision No. 11614/QD-UBND dated November 1, 2007 of Vinh City People's Committee. After the construction and completion process, Hung Phuc Kindergarten officially came into operation on August 3, 2012. Located in Hung Phuc Ward - Vinh City Center, Hung Phuc Kindergarten is built with a total area of 6,192.9 m2 including 12 classrooms, class size from 18 - 30 children. School goal: To train, care for and educate children according to a high-quality model.“Learn while playing, play while developing intelligence”. |
Although it only started for a short time, the race has received the support of many parents, teachers and students.
For many weeks now, every late afternoon, after school hours, many parents have stayed behind to practice with their children.
It was this careful preparation that made the race so exciting, vibrant and competitive. Nearly 100 young “racers” from the 3-year-old, 4-year-old and 5-year-old classes participated in the races.
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Anh, mother of Nguyen Tuong Vy - class 3C excitedly said: "I researched online and found that riding a balance bike for children brings many benefits. Therefore, not only practicing in class but also at home, I bought a bike for my child to ride. Every day, my child and I ride our bikes to school by ourselves...
After nearly a year of getting used to the balance bike, Tuong Vy has learned to be more independent and proactive in life. Usually, after cycling to school, Vy knows to leave her bike at the security room. After school, without her mother reminding her, she can get her bike, ride in the right lane and understand the traffic laws. In this particular competition, with her existing “experience”, Vy confidently passed the qualifying round with second place and was able to compete with the boys in the semi-finals.
The competition also brought students and parents together in the school. The joy was expressed on each bright face, in the applause, cheers of joy and also in the sighs and regrets... Teacher Hoang Thi Vinh - Principal of Hung Phuc Kindergarten said: Teaching in a student-centered way is one of the goals that the school is aiming for. Therefore, implementing this competition not only creates a useful playground, promotes physical activities, improves health but more importantly, it fosters the courage, will to overcome difficulties, and determination to move forward for the children. The competition is also an experience for the children to get acquainted with success and failure so that they can rise further in life...
