The effectiveness of educational innovation in Anh Son

Focus on improving school facilities

Before the District Party Congress for the 2015-2020 term, the Anh Son Education and Training Department had 63 schools under the district, with 45 satellite schools. The facilities of many schools were degraded, not ensuring safety for teaching and learning. Teaching equipment did not meet the requirements of innovation.

Thanks to the orientation and proposed solutions suitable to local realities, Anh Son focuses on investing in building school facilities and enhancing teaching equipment in the list of building national standard schools, linking the construction of national standard schools with the criteria for building new rural areas. Taking advantage of investment sources from all levels in the school consolidation program, in the planning and construction investment; taking advantage of support from organizations, businesses, and philanthropists; mobilizing other resources to add more functional rooms; upgrading and completing many items at schools to meet standards.

Regarding infrastructure, it has been invested in construction and renovation in the past 5 years with a total investment of 245 billion VND. The schools invested in construction at new locations are: Tuong Son Kindergarten 27 billion VND, Cao Son Kindergarten 12 billion VND, Khai Son Primary School 11.8 billion VND, Long Son Primary School 7 billion VND, Tuong Son Primary School 12 billion VND, Cam Son Primary School 41 billion VND, Khai Lang Secondary School 5.1 billion VND, Thach Son Kindergarten 5.4 billion VND,... Temporary classrooms no longer exist, degraded rooms have been repaired. Teaching equipment is being gradually supplemented to effectively implement the new textbook program, build a model of friendly libraries at the primary level,...
The work of socializing education, mobilizing sponsorship and support for school construction has been carried out with many suitable solutions, achieving high efficiency, creating high interest and consensus from the whole society, in the past 5 years, 45 billion VND has been mobilized. The school campus landscape has been cared for by schools, building a "green, clean, beautiful, friendly and gradually modern" environment.
With the difficult conditions of capital and the current state of degraded facilities of many schools, but with the focused direction of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, the District People's Committee, the direct guidance of the Department of Education and Training, the high determination of schools and localities in the past 5 years, 16 more schools have been built to meet national standards, increasing the number of standard schools to 49/63 schools, reaching 77.8% (of which preschools are 20/22 (90.9%); primary schools are 18/18 (100%); secondary schools are 9/18 (50%), high schools are 2/3 (66.7%), exceeding the target set by the Congress.

Reorganize the teaching staff and school network

In recent times, one of the problems of the Anh Son Education and Training sector is the local surplus or shortage of teachers and staff between levels and between subjects within a level; difficulties in arranging and using the staff effectively. Implementing Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee on a number of issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently. The work of planning and rearranging the network of schools and classes was implemented synchronously and effectively. By 2020, 5 school units were merged and reduced; the number of separate schools was reduced from 45 to 25.

Focus on implementing staff arrangement, streamlining, and resolving surplus teachers with district contracts. Streamlining the staff compared to 2015 to reach 10% as prescribed. Notably, during this term, the District People's Committee recruited and resolved the contract team from 256 contracts to 41 contracts, creating confidence in the work and dedication of the team.

The quality of excellent students ranks top in the province.

Anh Son Education and Training Department focuses on directing and effectively implementing educational innovation, innovating teaching methods towards promoting students' positivity, initiative and creativity; effectively using teaching aids; applying IT in management and teaching.

In the past 5 years, the whole district has had 7,888 excellent students at the district level, especially 162 excellent students at the provincial level, including 10 first prizes, 56 second prizes, 62 third prizes and 28 consolation prizes. The quality of excellent students is ranked among the top in the province, in which many subjects are ranked first in the province: History (ranked first in the province twice), Literature (ranked first in the province twice), Mathematics, Biology, Civic Education, Chemistry. In the provincial Science and Technology Innovation Competition, Anh Son district had 9 students winning prizes; 21 students were recognized as winners in the Phu Dong Sports Festival of the province; 2 students won prizes in the National Phu Dong Sports Festival.
The quality of comprehensive education has been significantly improved, the quality of mass education has changed positively, choosing breakthrough solutions to direct each level of education has brought high efficiency: "Improving communication and behavioral skills in preschools"; "Strengthening life skills education in primary schools" and "Improving the quality of mass education for students" for secondary schools; the results of the entrance exam to grade 10 of high school every year have achieved high results, in the 2019-2020 school year, they ranked 4th in the province. The quality of care, nurturing and education of children has achieved good results, children going to school are absolutely safe. The work of ensuring security and safety in schools has always been of interest and well implemented; schools have done a good job of disseminating and educating the law, preventing social evils and school violence from occurring.
