To help students upgrade their driving license from C to Fx, PK-KQ Technical College used the special vehicle ATC-59G.
The bulky and heavy tracked vehicles, under the skillful control of the students, slowly rolled down the slope, then accelerated straight up to the top of the hill, slowly passing through the narrow loop with bamboo poles on both sides according to the exercise regulations, then returned to the starting position. Each student took turns practicing according to the training. |
In order for students to be able to drive through complex terrain, we focus on specific and meticulous instructions. For each terrain, we must introduce students to the terrain, how to drive through it, and then the teacher practices driving first. |
According to Corporal Khuat Duy Thuong: "Driving a tracked vehicle is relatively difficult, it is not only heavy and bulky but the design is also different from a normal car. For example, the steering wheel, it is not like the steering wheel of a Zil-131, but it is like a joystick, you have to be skillful and proficient to control it, and the wheels are made of chains so the maneuvering will be slow and also very difficult to control". |
However, the students were very confident in driving the tracked vehicles through complex terrain without breaking any rules or being reminded by the instructors; they overcame curves, bomb craters, high mounds, deep trenches, dangerous tunnels… and completed the exercise excellently.
