Vietnam U17 Team Coach: 'Hope everyone sympathizes with the young players'
Coach Cristiano Roland thinks that young players lack experience and hopes everyone will sympathize with the Vietnam U17 team.
On the evening of October 25, at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho), the Vietnam U17 team had their second match against Myanmar U17 in the U17 Asian qualifiers and won all 3 points with goals from Van Duong and Gia Bao in the second half. This victory helped coach Roland and his team open the door to the final round of the 2025 U17 Asian Cup.
Speaking after the match, coach Cristiano Roland expressed satisfaction with his players' fighting spirit.

''Today's match was similar to the first match against the Kyrgyzstan U17 team, the opponent played defensively, which made it difficult for us in the beginning. However, the coaching staff analyzed the situation to come up with suitable strategies at each moment. The team had prepared many different playing styles. There were no goals in the previous match, but today they came, we had a good match.
Talking about the goal before the final match against U17 Yemen, the captain of U17 Vietnam said: ''Of course, like every match, we aim for victory.
The same goes for the next match, the coach will study the opponent to give the players the best information, have the right strategy. The players are young so mistakes are inevitable.. But that is part of their development process. We will aim to win the last match.''

Talking about his players' performance, coach Cristiano Roland hopes everyone will sympathize with the young players: ''I hope everyone will sympathize with the young players, playing in matches with many spectators for the first time, making mistakes is normal, players playing at a higher level still make mistakes.
It is a process of development. What we need to do is train better, create all conditions for the players to practice best, play positive football. Like the last two matches, the opponents were very difficult, actively defended, today we had a goal. Mistakes are in the process, the players need to try to develop.

Also at the press conference, player Van Duong - who scored the opening goal for the Vietnam U17 team said: ''Scoring the opening goal for the Vietnam U17 team feels very happy, contributing to the team is an honor and pride. The players all aim to score goals.
Talking about having to leave the field after opening the score, Van Duong shared: ''After scoring and then leaving the field, I was quite surprised but still very happy because I scored a goal to help the Vietnam U17 team. In terms of attack, the ball was on the sidelines and I moved by myself. After the break, the coaching staff asked me to play more persistently, push the formation higher, and cross the ball more carefully, so I was able to score''.
With a 2-0 victory over U17 Myanmar, U17 Vietnam has 4 points and ranks second in the group, behind U17 Yemen, the team that has won 6 points after 2 matches. U17 Vietnam will compete with U17 Yemen on October 27 to determine the top position in Group I./.
