Coach Le Huynh Duc: Cong Vinh only told half the truth in his autobiography
According to coach Le Huynh Duc, Cong Vinh’s statement was emotional and lacked evidence. If his honor or money was violated, Huynh Duc would sue in court and not argue through the press like this.
"I wouldn't have paid attention to this book because it doesn't make any sense. Cong Vinh is a junior, he has lived and experienced so much that he wants to write an autobiography. He also talks too much about other people. Is this Cong Vinh's autobiography or someone else's autobiography?", Huynh Duc asked when answering Lao Dong newspaper.
"However, I think the information Vinh said about me is sensitive. I don't care. Vinh just needs to ask himself, why are all the players on the team reacting so strongly to his book? On the team, I did my best. I consider Cong Vinh as a junior, so why should I hate him? If I meet Cong Vinh, I will ask him, "Who is the witness to such things?"
"When Vinh writes an autobiography, he must reflect the exact time the story happened. I remember, in 2004, when Cong Vinh returned from Portugal (?), coach Henrique Calisto told me to let Cong Vinh practice freely. That means Vinh can go out to practice with his teammates, but if he wants to take a break from practice, it's okay too.
That was Mr. Calisto’s directive and I just conveyed it. If considered from that angle and context, my statement was fine, it did not mean to “hate” Vinh as he thought.
I just want to tell Vinh that his success is also the success of Vietnamese football. So those who have gone before me or anyone else do not have any “jealousy” or “hate” towards Vinh.
But if in Vinh's previous life, he had no friends in the football world; or now, his memoir received strong backlash, Vinh must look back at himself to see why that happened?"
