Many flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh are delayed.
A representative of Vietjet Air said that on February 12, the airline will have two make-up flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh to meet the travel needs of passengers on the three flights on this route that were canceled on February 11.

The remaining passengers will be rescheduled for a flight scheduled to depart at 12:35 on February 13. The airline representative said that three flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh on February 11 were canceled due to weather, affecting 540 passengers.
According to a representative of Vietjet Air, due to unfavorable weather conditions, flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh on February 11 and 12 cannot be operated, forcing them to land in Da Nang or bring passengers back to Ho Chi Minh City.
For passengers who are allowed to return to Ho Chi Minh City, the airline will prioritize arranging flights on the earliest possible flights when the weather is favorable. For passengers who are forced to land in Da Nang, the airline will support sleeper buses with 200,000 VND/passenger to take them back to Vinh.
However, many passengers did not agree with the above solution, requesting the airline to arrange a plane to take them back to Vinh as planned. Vietjet Air promised to try to meet the requests of these passengers today.
Representatives of Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific also said that on February 11, some flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh and vice versa were forced to be canceled and postponed to the following day. Yesterday, some flights were delayed from 90 to more than 180 minutes due to unfavorable weather.
Representatives of these airlines said they have arranged satisfactory compensation flight schedules for passengers.
The Central Airport Authority said the weather at Vinh airport is often foggy and windy, which is not favorable for takeoffs and landings. Sometimes, five minutes ago, one airline can take off or land, but then when the time comes for another airline to take off or land, it cannot be done.
According to Tuoi Tre's records at 5:00 p.m. on February 12, at the Vinh airport waiting room, there was no longer a scene of passengers "surrounding" the check-in counter of VietJet Air.
Many passengers who stayed behind to wait for two make-up flights on the evening of February 12 said that although they were very tired after more than a day of struggling at the airport, they still tried to wait for the make-up flight to be on time for work the next day. Some other passengers were forced to go through procedures with VietJet Air to refund their tickets and transfer to another airline.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan, a specialist from the Northern Airport Authority at Vinh airport, said that on the evening of February 12, due to heavy fog, four flights of VietJet Air (three flights) and Jetstar were delayed.
On the evening of February 12, Jetstar arranged a replacement flight for the passengers. “We have contacted VietJet Air many times to arrange planes and replacement flights for the passengers. Although the flight schedule is full, the airline still tried to arrange three flights to relieve the passengers,” said Ms. Lan.
Ms. Nguyen Thi My Dung (36 years old, from Thanh Hoa) said she was on flight VJ2271 departing on February 11 but was delayed and is scheduled to depart on February 13.
“A day of waiting at the airport is very tiring. Now the airline is saying it will be postponed to the next day, so I have to rent a motel outside. We want the airline to take responsibility for our accommodation costs,” said Ms. Dung indignantly.
Many passengers complained that VietJet Air had repeatedly delayed flights over the past two days, causing disruption to their work. The airline did not provide a specific reason for the delay, a planned replacement flight schedule, or support with food and accommodation, causing many passengers to be upset.
