Nghe An Women's Activities: Creative, Adapting to the New Situation

MANY INNOVATIONS AND CREATIVITY ADAPT TO THE SITUATION

Looking back on a year of operation, the Women's Unions at all levels have made many innovations in selecting and organizing activities that are both suitable for the Covid-19 epidemic situation and meet the needs and aspirations of female workers... Previously, when developing the women's union work plan for 2021, the Trade Unions at all levels predicted that the epidemic situation would affect activities, but it was difficult for anyone to foresee the increasingly complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since the fourth outbreak of the epidemic, with the implementation of Directives 15, 16, 19 of the Government, many activities in the province have been at a standstill, including trade union activities. However, with the close direction of the Trade Union Executive Committees at all levels and the concerns and creativity of women's union cadres at all levels, the proposed women's union work program has been completed, contributing to exceeding the targets assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (the target of establishing mass women's union committees outside the state sector reached 150%).

During the year, many activities left a good impression on union members and workers such as: Gala on International Day of Happiness March 20 at the Labor Federation of Nghia Dan district; club activities combined with communication on labor policies at the Labor Federation of Dien Chau, Do Luong, and Tuong Duong districts; competition "Ao dai online" of the Civil Servants' Union, the photo contest "Moments of Love" of the Thanh Chuong District Labor Federation... Activities to celebrate gender days such as International Women's Day (March 8), Vietnam Women's Union Founding Day (October 20) were launched by Trade Unions at all levels into emulation movements, volunteer activities for colleagues and the community.

Especially in the emulation movement to welcome the 16th Congress of Women's Delegates of Nghe An province, term 2021-2026, the units responded with activities focusing on 02 major programs: Program "Gifts of sharing love" and Program "Planting 1 billion trees". From this program, loving and practical gifts (cash and computers, books, desks, bookshelves, bicycles, breeding cows, meals...) were shared with poor female workers and the community.

Sharing about the results of this movement, Ms. La Thi Ha - President of Con Cuong District Labor Federation said: "With the specific direction and orientation of the Propaganda and Women's Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation, the District Labor Union successfully organized the launching ceremony with the theme: "Each female worker and civil servant (CNVCLĐ) - a useful job; each female collective - a model, a good job, together with women in the district to overcome difficulties, be creative, for the community", a series of other activities deployed in the grassroots Labor Unions were positively responded to by female workers and were highly appreciated by the departments and branches in the area, especially the activities of visiting poor and vulnerable women, giving support to workers returning from the South".

Not only at the grassroots level and districts, branches, the provincial level also organized many meaningful activities such as: Organizing an online forum to end domestic violence with the participation of 400 female workers; coordinating to organize training on population work for 200 workers; coordinating to organize a forum for the safety of women and children for nearly 300 workers. In particular, directing all levels of the Trade Union to successfully organizeConference to honor exemplary familiesfrom the grassroots to the provincial level. The Provincial Family Appreciation Conference was held online at 4 locations with 39 outstanding families selected from 1,300 outstanding families at all levels. Although the conference was held online, it left many emotions in the hearts of the attendees, especially in accordance with the epidemic conditions.

CARING FOR AND PROTECTING THE LEGITIMATE RIGHTS AND INTERESTS OF FEMALE EMPLOYEES

In the context of the epidemic, as one of the vulnerable groups in society, female workers are greatly affected. Therefore, in 2021, many activities to care for female workers and laborers were organized simultaneously. The program "Your Health", associated with the Union Welfare Program and the socialization of health care for workers and laborers, continued to be effectively implemented. In 2021, 23 units organized the Your Health Program with 10,595 workers and laborers receiving health check-ups, cancer screening, consultation, and free medicine. Activities of visiting and giving gifts to female workers and laborers in difficult circumstances, affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, were implemented with attention by the Trade Unions at all levels.

Attention has also been paid to the care and attention paid to the children of workers and laborers. During the year, 1,682 children received encouragement, recognition and rewards from the grassroots trade unions. On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, trade unions at all levels spent 189.22 million VND to give gifts to the children. The leading units in this activity are the Labor Federations of the following units: Do Luong, Dien Chau, Nghia Dan, Vinh City, Quynh Luu, Health...

Along with the care and protection work, the work of coordinating inspection and supervision of the implementation of regimes and policies that directly affect the legitimate rights and interests of female workers is regularly deployed by the Trade Unions at all levels. Each grassroots trade union has conducted at least one inspection and supervision of female labor policies, of which the provincial level coordinated one inspection at the Vinh City Labor Federation.

With the concerns and creativity of female cadres at all levels, and the innovative solutions applied in accordance with the situation, the female activities of the Provincial Federation of Labor have achieved encouraging results, contributing to the overall achievements of the trade union organization.

Sharing the program, plan and tasks for 2022, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Nhi - Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor emphasized: "Innovation in thinking, daring to think, daring to do, daring to break through, reaching a new height is the requirement, the task and the goal of the trade union organization in the coming time. With that orientation, in order not to miss a beat,women's activitiesmust be promoted, strengthened; proactively, creatively, and develop meaningful and practical programs and plans and activities to take good care of female workers, civil servants, and laborers. Solutions need to be considered, researched, and implemented from the grassroots to the province to make women's activities more effective, bringing more value, positive influence, and meaningful and sustainable contributions to the development of the Trade Union organization"./.
