Thai Hoa student wins 'Pride of Vietnam' award with clip introducing homeland

(Baonghean.vn) - The video clip "News #55: Returning to Thai Hoa" presented by 3 students of Thai Hoa Town High School won the second prize in the "Proud of Vietnam" National History and Culture Competition in 2017 organized by the Central Youth Union in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training.

The video clip is over 6 minutes long with very attractive and lively music performed by 3 students, Le Anh Tuan, Nguyen Thai Phong and Pham Huyen Trang, students of class 12A1 of the school, introducing the geography, history, landscapes, and attractive cuisine of the town on the Hieu River.

Those are Sao Sa mountain peak, Bau Sen lake, Hieu bridge, Lang Vac festival, ancient tamarind trees in Tay Ho 1 block, Quang Tien ward planted since the French colonial period.

Nghe An cuisine with the flavor of the red basalt plateau is also cleverly introduced in the song with dishes such as banh beo, chao canh, banh hoa nau, honey...

Le Anh Tuan, one of the three students who made the clip, said that when participating in the "Proud of Vietnam" contest, they were very concerned about introducing the history and culture of Thai Hoa land and people to students in the country and the general public.

Therefore, starting from the culture, history, historical sites and relics that are very close and familiar, they inspired the students to write the lyrics and film the MV in about 10 days and then submit it to the contest.

“My friends and I feel very happy and proud right now. Because not only did we win the prize, but through the video clip and the contest, many people have learned about my hometown Thai Hoa,” the final year student shared.

As of noon on November 26, on the contest's official website: tuhaovietnam.com.vn, the clip posted on November 12, 2017 had 11,755 views and 7,010 likes.

Teacher Le Anh Tuan - Secretary of the Youth Union of Thai Hoa High School said that according to the announcement from the Organizing Committee, surpassing more than 500 clips of students nationwide, the video clip "News #55: Returning to Thai Hoa" is one of 10 award-winning clips in the contest. The award ceremony will take place in Hanoi on December 3.

Participating in the 2nd National History and Culture Competition: Pride of Vietnam in 2017, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union also received a collective award for the category of provincial and municipal youth union with the largest number of participating students.

Tan Ky High School is also one of five schools nationwide to win the award for the school with the highest percentage of students participating in the competition.

The contest to learn about the history and culture of the nation "Pride of Vietnam" is for high school students and students studying the regular high school education program at vocational education and regular education centers nationwide.

The purpose of the contest is to create a healthy and useful playground for union members and students, to arouse the spirit of passion for learning history, patriotism, national pride, and responsibility of Vietnamese youth in studying, training, establishing themselves, starting a career, and participating in building and defending the Fatherland.

The contest includes a knowledge contest and a video clip contest. For the video clip contest, the evaluation criteria include: content, creativity, and impact on viewers through sound and image.

Previously, at the first “Proud of Vietnam” contest, held in 2015, 3 students of Thai Hoa High School also won first prize in the video clip category with the song “Thai Hoa in me”.
