Secondary school students in Nghe An province continue to be off school this week.

Previously, according to the plan today (March 9), secondary school students across the province will return to school after 4 weeks off due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

But in the past 2 days, in some areas of Nghe An province, there are quite a few people who are subject to quarantine, so on the evening of March 8, the Provincial People's Committee decided to let students in Nam Dan district and Thai Son commune (Do Luong district) have an additional week off from school.

However, updating on the complicated developments of the epidemic, at 11:45 p.m. on March 8, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training said: Based on the conclusion of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee at the meeting that evening, Nghe An province has decided to let all secondary school students in the province continue to stay home from school until further notice. High school students will still go to school as usual. The remaining levels will still stay home from school according to the previously issued plan.

This decision has also received the consensus of many parents because in the past two days, the number of people infected with Covid-19 nationwide has increased rapidly to 30. And taking time off from school is one of the safe solutions for students to be isolated and prevent the epidemic at home.
