Knowing that Manh is a special student of the school, on the morning of October 27, the school invited Manh's parents to discuss and coordinate in educating this student.
Knowing the incident, Manh brought a knife to school. At that time, teacher Nguyen Huu Hieu (born in 1979, Chemistry teacher and Head of Security Committee of Thanh Chuong Town Secondary School) was working with the parents when Manh suddenly rushed in and swung the knife.
The attack was so sudden that Mr. Hieu could only raise his hand to block it, injuring his left hand. Immediately after the incident, Thanh Chuong town police arrived, restrained Manh, took the knife from his hand, and brought him to the police station to clarify the matter.
Mr. Hieu was bleeding heavily so his colleagues took him to the hospital for emergency treatment immediately. Initially at the police station, Nguyen Trong Manh admitted his actions.
Mr. Dang Van Hoa said: "The school has decided to temporarily suspend the student for 1 week so that he can write a self-criticism. After that, the school will base on the student's sincere attitude and the family's opinion and then continue to hold a disciplinary council meeting to discipline the student."
The police concluded that this was an intentional act of causing injury. However, this student is a minor so he should be handed over to the school and local authorities for management and education.
The incident is currently being investigated by the authorities.
