Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Association cooperates to present 300 gifts to people in flood-hit Tuong Duong area
On October 6, the Education Subcommittee - Central Social Charity Committee coordinated with the Red Cross Society of Nghe An province, the Red Cross Society of Hai Ba Trung and Hoan Kiem districts, Hanoi city, and organizations, individuals, and volunteer groups to visit and give gifts to people in Tuong Duong district who suffered damage due to floods.
Previously, on September 30, flash floods and landslides suddenly occurred in some areas of Luong Minh, Xa Luong, and Luu Kien communes in Tuong Duong district, causing many people's properties to be swept away and many schools to be submerged in floodwaters. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
As soon as the natural disaster occurred in Tuong Duong, the Education Sub-Committee - Central Social Charity Committee, Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Society promptly called on organizations, individuals, and volunteer groups to donate more than 230 million VND.


The delegation directly presented 300 gifts to families affected by flash floods and landslides in Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district. The gifts included cash, rice, instant noodles, fish sauce, seasoning powder and clothes; each gift was worth from 950,000 to 1,950,000 VND. For 6 families with severe damage, each household received nearly 2 million VND in support, including 1,500,000 VND in cash. The total value of the gifts presented to households was more than 230 million VND.


The small gifts have promptly encouraged families severely affected by natural disasters, helping people overcome difficulties and quickly stabilize their lives./.
