On the morning of October 2, comrade Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the provincial working delegation went directly to Luong Minh commune (Tuong Duong) to inspect and directly direct the work of overcoming the consequences caused by flash floods. Also accompanying were representatives of relevant departments, branches and units.
During the period from September 10 to September 30, 2024, Tuong Duong district had to face many prolonged heavy rains and strong storms, especially directly affected by storms No. 3 and No. 4. These extreme weather phenomena caused flash floods, landslides, inundation and strong gusts of wind, seriously affecting people's lives and infrastructure in the district.

The communes severely affected include: Luong Minh, Yen Tinh, Yen Hoa, Xa Luong, Luu Kien and Thach Giam. The natural disaster has caused huge damage to housing, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, livestock and transport infrastructure, disrupting the lives and livelihoods of thousands of households.
According to initial statistics, a total of 94 houses were affected, of which 18 houses were severely flooded, deeply inundated and eroded, causing households to completely lose their homes and assets. These families are currently living in temporary housing in poor conditions.
14 houses were severely damaged, the house structure was seriously affected, needing major repairs before they could continue to be used. 58 houses suffered landslides, mud and soil flooded into the houses, damaging furniture, affecting the daily lives of households.

In addition, more than 33 hectares of rice in the harvest stage were fallen, broken and flooded. Some areas were completely lost due to floods or prolonged flooding. Nearly 500 hectares of acacia and mem forests were damaged from 30% to 100%. Many forest areas were fallen and had broken branches, affecting people's income from forestry. 79 hectares of cassava, sugarcane and vegetables were flooded and completely damaged. This seriously affected the food supply and income of farming households.
Many roads were seriously eroded, many villages were isolated. Estimated damage was about 13 billion VND.

Immediately after the flash flood occurred, the district mobilized forces to overcome the consequences: Clean up the environment, clear landslides, ensure smooth traffic; Help people move their assets and livestock to safety; Temporarily repair houses and public works so that people can soon stabilize their lives. At the same time, provide emergency support to affected households.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the proactiveness of Tuong Duong district in promptly directing and responding to the emergency situation, minimizing property damage. After the flood receded, the locality promptly mobilized vehicles and armed forces to help people clean up their houses, overcome the consequences, and stabilize their initial lives. At the same time, the district listened to recommendations and proposals to submit to relevant levels and sectors for handling plans.
