Nghe An Association of the Elderly received the Third Class Labor Medal

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 14, the Nghe An Province Association of the Elderly held a ceremony to receive the Third Class Labor Medal and deploy tasks for 2016.

In 2015, the Provincial Association of the Elderly had 352,457 members; the Association visited and gave gifts to over 20,000 elderly people with a total amount of over 1.2 billion VND; wished longevity to over 70,000 elderly people in the Spring of the Goat; provided free eye examination and treatment to over 27,000 elderly people in the program "Bright Eyes for the Elderly"...

In 2016, the Association will hold the 2nd Provincial Elderly Association Congress for the 2016-2020 term; deploy the 2016 Action Month for the Elderly with the theme "Joining hands for the lonely elderly without support". At the ceremony, comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province praised the efforts and achievements of the Association of the Elderly in recent years. The Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly awarded certificates of merit to 62 individuals and groups; the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 20 individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in 2015 and the program "Bright Eyes for the Elderly" in the period 2012 - 2015.
