On the morning of August 26, in Hanoi, the Government held a national online conference to summarize the implementation of the Program and emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses".

Comrade Pham Minh Chinh - Politburo member, Prime Minister, Head of the Central Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide chaired the live bridge in Hanoi.
Also attending at the Hanoi bridge were leaders of the Party, National Assembly, State, Government and central ministries and branches.
On the side of Nghe An province, there was comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation attending the live bridge point in Hanoi.
Comrade Hoang Phu Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the online conference in Nghe An; and simultaneously transmitted the conference online to communes and wards throughout the province.

There are 334,234 newly built and repaired houses.
The program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide was launched by the Government in early October 2024, aiming to implement the goals and tasks in Resolution No. 42, dated November 24, 2023 of the 13th Party Central Committee, which sets the goal of "completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households, and people affected by natural disasters and climate change" by 2030; Conclusion No. 97, dated October 5, 2024 of the 10th Central Conference (13th tenure) requires promoting the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025"; Directive No. 34, dated May 24, 2024 of the Secretariat requires "ensuring that 100% of people with meritorious services and families of people with meritorious services to the revolution are well cared for in terms of housing". Particularly practical to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam with the set milestone, basically completing the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide by August 31, 2025.

The Government's launch program and the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide by 2025" of the Party Central Committee have become important political tasks, mobilizing all levels, sectors and localities nationwide to take drastic and creative direction, creating great social effects.

Every roof is "a gift", "a home", "a love" demonstrate national sentiment and compatriotism; realize the Party's policies and guidelines; demonstrate the goals, good nature and superiority of our regime; affirm the humanistic values and fine moral traditions of our nation; arouse and strengthen people's trust in the Party's leadership; promote the strength of the great national unity bloc and the will to rise up, be self-reliant and self-reliant of those who are supported to build houses.

As of August 20, 2025, all 34 provinces and cities nationwide have started and completed 100% of the houses in need of support, with a total of 334,234 units. Newly built and repaired houses; of which, 255,310 new houses were built and 78,924 houses were repaired.
The total mobilized budget for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is about 24,761,596 billion. VND; 2,738,754 working days with 454,318 people Support for construction and home repair nationwide.
As for Nghe An province, the whole province has completed the target with 20,802 newly built and repaired houses, reaching 100% of the review demand; with a total mobilized resource of more than 3,000 billion VND and millions of working days.
In particular, the progress has been accelerated since the Central Government launched the program, with 10,716 more houses built and repaired in nearly 1 year, compared to the total number of houses built nearly 2 years ago.

Continue to care for the poor
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated and commended all levels, sectors, localities, people and soldiers nationwide for actively contributing to the common achievements, basically eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide.

From the practical experience of directing the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the effective way of doing things comes from the thinking, vision, innovation and creativity of the entire political system and mobilizing the strength of the people and businesses; at the same time, he drew and affirmed many valuable lessons for directing the following programs, plans and movements for socio-economic development.

Emphasizing that supporting people to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is an important step in social security work, "settling down and having a career", Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested all levels, sectors and localities nationwide to continue to take care of social security work on the basis of closely following the Party's policies with the goal that by 2030, the whole country will have no more poor households to continue reviewing and proposing policies to support people to expand production and business, creating livelihoods for the poor to be self-reliant, self-reliant, and overcome their own limits to escape poverty sustainably.

Along with livelihoods, the housing issue continues to improve with better and better accommodation and new temporary, dilapidated houses for people arise, requiring local authorities to proactively take responsibility.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also requested the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to closely coordinate with the Government and central and local ministries, departments and branches to deploy and implement social security policies; participate in monitoring and social criticism of social policies; listen to, grasp and gather the thoughts and aspirations of all classes of people to promptly reflect them to the Party, State and Government, ensuring the rights and lives of the people are stable and developed.
For the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security, continue to promote the "core" role in protecting national independence, sovereignty, security and order, and social security work.


On this occasion, the President awarded the Third Class Labor Medal to 19 collectives with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide", including Nghe An province.
