Nghe An has 82/130 communes and wards completing the elimination of dilapidated and makeshift houses for the poor.

As of July 4, 2025, Nghe An province has completed supporting the construction and repair of 20,452 dilapidated and temporary houses for the poor, reaching 98.19% of the total demand of 20,828 houses; 82/130 communes and wards have completed the elimination of dilapidated and temporary houses for the poor.

In week 1, July 2025, from June 30 to July 4, despite the high concentration on completing the work of transferring the old commune-level administrative unit to the new commune-level administrative unit, along with ending the operation of the district-level government model, operating the new commune-level administrative unit according to the 2-level government model; the housing support program for the poor continues to receive attention and direction from all levels, sectors and localities in the province.

Specific housing construction results in week 1, July 2025, the whole province has 144 more houses (102 new houses, 42 repaired houses) completed, handed over and put into use.

Of which, the program supports 34 houses from socialized sources (26 new houses, 8 houses repaired); two National Target Programs support 53 houses (35 new houses, 18 repaired houses); the program supports houses for people with meritorious services with 57 houses (41 new houses, 16 repaired houses).

Accumulated since the implementation of the Program to mobilize and support housing construction for the poor and households with housing difficulties in the province (February 2023), by July 4, 2025, the whole province has completed supporting the construction and repair of 20,452 dilapidated and temporary houses for the poor, reaching 98.19% of the total demand of 20,828 houses in the period 2023 - 2025.

Of which, support from the Program to eliminate dilapidated houses (socialized source) is 10,633/10,678 houses, reaching 99.57%; support from two National Target Programs is 6,436/6,950 houses, reaching 99.15%; Program for people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs is 2,968/3,200 houses, reaching 92.75%.

According to the new commune-level administrative units, out of a total of 130 communes and wards in the province, 82 communes and wards have completed 100% of the work of eliminating dilapidated and makeshift houses for the poor; the remaining 48 communes and wards have not completed the work of building houses for the poor with a total of 376 houses, of which localities have started construction on 318 houses and have not started construction on 58 houses.

Including: Nga My commune: 41 houses (34 newly built, 7 repaired); Mon Son commune: 36 houses (26 newly built, 10 repaired); Hai Chau commune: 34 houses (27 newly built, 7 repaired); My Ly commune: 22 houses (20 newly built, 2 repaired); Duc Chau commune: 19 houses (16 newly built, 3 repaired); Luong Minh commune: 17 houses (13 newly built, 10 repaired); Dien Chau commune: 14 houses (12 newly built, 2 repaired); Lam Thanh commune: 13 houses (10 newly built, 3 repaired); Tam Dong commune: 12 houses (9 newly built, 3 repaired); Quang Chau commune: 12 houses (9 newly built, 3 repaired); Huu Khuong commune: 10 houses (8 newly built, 10 repaired).

There are 8 units, including the communes: Quang Dong, Binh Minh, Quan Thanh, Mau Thach, Quynh Son, Quynh Luu, Quynh Van and Vinh Phu ward, each locality has 1 new house left to be built.

To ensure the completion of the Program to mobilize and support the construction of houses for the poor and people with housing difficulties in the province by July 30, 2025 as planned, the Provincial Steering Committee continues to direct, urge and guide localities to speed up the progress of construction of houses that have not yet started and at the same time focus on speeding up the progress of construction and repair of houses for subjects that have started construction to complete and hand over houses to people immediately after completion. The Provincial Steering Committee will also promptly allocate funds for arising cases; supplement counterpart funds for localities to ensure timely and correct funding.
