Nghe An Farmers' Association plants 800 trees in response to Tree Planting Festival
(Baonghean.vn) - Delegates of the Farmers' Association of Nghe An province and Anh Son district planted 800 trees to join hands in building green, clean, beautiful roads and raising awareness of environmental protection.
On the morning of February 11, in Hung Son commune, Anh Son district,Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Associationorganized the launching ceremony of "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho" and responded to the program "Planting one million trees". Attending were comrade Nguyen Quang Tung - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, leaders of Anh Son district and local people.

The launching ceremony aims to propagate, encourage and motivate cadres, members and people to actively promote the movement of planting trees, afforestation, caring for and protecting forest resources; promote the tradition and cultural beauty of the nation on the Tree Planting Festival to forever remember Uncle Ho; create an atmosphere of vibrant and widespread labor and production competition at all levels of the association right from the first days of the New Year.
In addition, the launching ceremony also contributes to raising awareness of all classes of people about the role, effects and value of forests, tree planting and afforestation associated with sustainable socio-economic development and ecological environment, contributing to mitigating natural disasters and global climate change.
At the ceremony, delegates of Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association together withAnh Son districtPlanted 800 trees on 11 main roads in Hung Son commune, Anh Son district. The total length of the tree line is 8km. The selected trees are mainly Lagerstroemia and Black Star, the trees are at least 3 meters high, the trunk diameter is at least 4cm, the distance between trees is at least 5 meters.

This is a practical activity, contributing to the implementation of Plan No. 377/KH-UBND, dated July 12, 2021 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on implementing the Project "Planting 1 billion trees in the period 2021 - 2025"; Program No. 04-CTr-HNDT, dated October 6, 2021 of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association on the Program of planting 1 million trees in the period 2021 - 2023. In the coming time, the Provincial Farmers' Association will organize many activities to promote the movement.afforestation, helping to raise awareness of protecting the green, clean and beautiful living environment of all levels of associations as well as the people.
