(Baonghean.vn) - Responding to the policy of taking care of Tet for the poor and policy families of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, Nghe An Provincial Women's Union has had many activities to visit and encourage Tet greetings to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Yen Thanh district and orphans in Hung Nguyen district.

On the morning of January 25, officials and employees of the Women's Union of Nghe An province visited Nhan Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district to visit, encourage and wish Happy New Year to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Linh, 96 years old, in Nhan Thanh commune.

On the same afternoon, the Provincial Women's Union visited, encouraged and supported Tet gifts for two orphans: Duong Thi Mai Phuong and Duong Manh Dung, in Hung Linh commune, Hung Nguyen district.

Previously, on January 15-17, the Provincial Women's Union organized the program "Warm Border Tet - Spring of Giap Thin 2024" in 3 border communes of Que Phong district, including Tri Le, Thong Thu and Hanh Dich.

This is a meaningful activity to concretize the Program "Accompanying women in the border areas" launched by the Vietnam Women's Union and the Border Guard Command and the Program "Tet for the poor - Spring of Giap Thin 2024" of the province.

Specifically, in Tri Le commune, the Provincial Women's Union presented 40 Tet gifts to 40 members and poor women in the locality, each gift worth 500,000 VND; supported 2 models of breeding cows for 2 families of women members in difficult circumstances, namely Ms. Lu Thi Tim's family and Ms. Luong Thi Duyen's family; presented 50 million VND in support of "Shelter of Love" to Ms. Lo Thi Dien's family, all 3 of whom are in Tam Hop village. The source of support for the "Shelter of Love" comes from the contributions of officials and employees of the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union to save on expenses.

In Thong Thu commune, the Provincial Women's Union presented 10 gifts to members and poor women in difficult circumstances; and also provided 50 million VND in support of the "Shelter of Love" for Ms. Lang Thi Tiep's family in Ang Dua village. The source of support for the "Shelter of Love" was provided by the Provincial Women's Union in connection with the Women's Union and the Border Guard Command of Nam Dinh province.

On this occasion, the Provincial Women's Union also visited, encouraged and wished a Happy New Year to officers and soldiers of Thong Thu Border Post.

At Hanh Dich commune, the Provincial Women's Union presented 10 gifts to poor female members in difficult circumstances and wished a Happy New Year to officers and soldiers of Hanh Dich Border Post.

Together with the provincial Women's Union, in recent days, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has also had many practical activities towards poor women, women in especially difficult circumstances, vulnerable women and orphans.

The Women's Union of Quynh Luu district organized the program "Warm Spring in the Border Area" in Thanh Son commune, Thanh Chuong district and presented 50 Tet gifts to poor women, each worth 600 thousand VND. The support source was contributed by the Women's Union of Quynh Luu district in connection with organizations, individuals and Union bases in Quynh Luu district.

The Standing Committee of the Women's Union of Nam Dan district mobilized contributions from the district's union officials and support from Sen Market Shopping Center to give Tet gifts to 22 poor member families in the district, each gift worth 700,000 VND.

The activity of taking care of Tet for the poor and policy families with the spirit of "Hand in hand", contributing to sharing some of the difficulties so that poor households and households in difficult circumstances can celebrate the traditional Tet of the nation more fully is being continued by the Women's Union at all levels in the province to give more motivation to poor households and households in difficult circumstances to rise up in life./.
