Today (November 6) APEC 2017 Summit Week opens: Elevating Vietnam's position

With the theme “Creating new momentum, fostering a common future”, on November 6, the APEC 2017 Summit Week officially took place in Da Nang city.

This is a particularly important international event, attracting the attention of the whole world; an opportunity for leaders of Asia-Pacific economies to discuss and make important political and economic decisions, as well as solutions to help the world overcome difficulties, turn challenges into opportunities and driving force for global growth.

The APEC 2017 Summit Week is not only an opportunity for APEC in general and each APEC economy to strengthen connectivity and promote cooperation; but also a place where world leaders meet and make many commitments and decisions on politics and economics... directly impacting global stability.

In the context of a constantly changing world, non-traditional security and terrorism have emerged as one of the top threats, APEC's attention has also expanded to regional security and political issues, with the issuance of separate statements on counter-terrorism and climate change; thereby, further strengthening APEC's role and prestige in the international arena.

It is undeniable that the presence of 21 leaders of the world's largest economies, such as the US, China, Japan, Russia, Australia, Canada...; the presence of leaders of the World Trade Organization; the World Economic Forum; the presence of global CEOs with big names such as Walmart, Facebook, Fed Express... and major media agencies such as BBC, CNN, Reuters, AP, AFP... are really creating "heat" for the APEC 2017 High-Level Week opening in Da Nang.
