More than 12,000 people returning from abroad are being quarantined in the provinces of Military Region 4.

On the morning of March 22, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Military Region 4 held a meeting to continue implementing more drastic measures to prevent and control Covid-19 in the coming time. The meeting was chaired by Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh - Commander of Military Region 4.

As of March 22, Military Region 4 is quarantining 12,046 citizens returning from abroad to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic. Of these, 3,288 are quarantined at units under the Military Region 4 Armed Forces, and 8,758 are quarantined in localities.

Some units and localities have a large number of people in quarantine such as Nghe An Provincial Military Command with 901 people, Quang Binh Provincial Military Command with 853 people, Thua Thien Hue Provincial Military Command with 676 people, Thanh Hoa Province with 2,450 people, Ha Tinh Province with 2,841 people, Thua Thien Hue Province with 1,002 people...

Within just one day, from 6:00 a.m. on March 21 to 6:00 a.m. on March 22, units of Military Region 4 organized the reception and quarantine of 774 more citizens from Thailand and Laos at 16 quarantine locations of the units.

Currently, a large number of Vietnamese citizens returning home from abroad are mainly from epidemic areas. Therefore, in order to respond to the epidemic promptly and effectively, the Commander of Military Region 4 requires units to continue to improve and supplement sufficient medical forces, facilities and equipment; adjust the epidemic prevention and control plan and quarantine reception in line with the situation; strictly maintain the epidemic prevention and control system at all levels; proactively survey new quarantine locations, and be ready to receive a large number of people...

Continue to further promote propaganda work on mass media about the results of Covid-19 prevention and control nationwide, especially the efforts of the Army, officers and soldiers of the Military Region's armed forces, so that the people can see that the Army is now truly a solid "support" in disease prevention and control.

Immediately after the meeting, the working delegation of the Steering Committee led by Major General Nguyen Anh Tuan - Deputy Commander, Head of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Military Region 4 inspected the epidemic prevention and control work and the reception and centralized quarantine work at Doan An Nursing Home 40 Cua Hoi. This is the place that has just received 418 Vietnamese citizens returning from abroad through the border gates of Cha Lo (Quang Binh), Cau Treo (Ha Tinh) and Nam Can (Nghe An).

After the inspection, Major General Nguyen Anh Tuan acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the efforts and endeavors of the An Nursing Team at 40 Cua Hoi over the past time. In the face of the complicated developments of the epidemic, the Deputy Commander of Military Region 4 requested the Team to continue to coordinate with the relevant authorities to ensure the forces, means and medical facilities; ensure the quality of meals for citizens according to the Army regime, absolutely not discriminate against people in quarantine, strictly maintain the work of epidemic prevention and control, and strengthen disinfection work.
