Mr. Le Van Hong - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Yen Thanh district said: After the heavy rain on May 30, the water receded very slowly, the whole district currently has over 500 hectares of rice severely flooded, mainly in the communes of Long Thanh, Bao Thanh, Khanh Thanh, Nam Thanh, Vinh Thanh... It is expected that it will take about 3-4 more days for the water to recede completely, there are quite a few areas of rice that are severely damaged. The district is directing the communes to mobilize forces to focus on clearing canals and drains to drain the flood. After the water recedes, check the areas to fix such as pruning, the severely damaged rice areas are urgently planted again for sowing. Photo: Van Truong

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hanh - Director of Dien Chau Irrigation Enterprise shared: Dien Thanh and Dien Thuy sluices in Dien Chau district are the main drainage systems for Dien Chau and Yen Thanh districts. In recent days, due to high tides, drainage has been very difficult. From June 1, the tides have decreased, during the day we have opened Dien Thanh sluice at full capacity of 230 m3/s, and Dien Thuy sluice at 120 m3/s. At night, when the tide rises, the sluice gate must be closed to prevent salinity, so the flood water will drain slowly due to the high tide.
