On the morning of March 21, the Center for Communication on Natural Resources and Environment (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) coordinated with the National Volunteer Center (Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union) and the community volunteer organization Green Trips Vietnam and other units to launch the Campaign "Let's clean the sea".
The program was launched simultaneously in 28 coastal provinces and cities and 9 islands to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

In Nghe An, the "Picking up trash to clean the sea" campaign was launched in Cua Lo town, with the participation of representatives of the Provincial Youth Union, the North Central Mobile Police Regiment - Mobile Police Command; Drug Crime Prevention Task Force No. 2, Coast Guard Command and more than 500 volunteers from many universities, colleges, union members, youth, cadres, civil servants, armed forces, volunteer organizations and freelance volunteers in the province.

The program aims to raise public awareness of the role of the sea in human life, a sense of responsibility for protecting the marine environment as well as the living environment; help people have a clear view of the current state of ocean pollution, raise understanding of the importance of proper waste classification and reducing ocean plastic waste.

In addition, this activity aims to call on the community to join hands in protecting the marine environment through practical activities, demonstrating civic responsibility towards the living environment and the country, supporting localities in creating a green, clean and beautiful living environment, promoting corporate social responsibility, promoting the image of a green - clean - beautiful Vietnam to international friends...
On the same morning, similar activities took place in other coastal areas of the province such as Hoang Mai, Quynh Luu, Dien Chau and Nghi Loc with the participation of many volunteers.
