Hung Tan won the first prize of beautiful new rural commune in Nghe An, awarded 1 billion VND
(Baonghean.vn) - Second prize went to Quynh Doi commune (Quynh Luu) with a prize of 700 million VND; 2 communes won third prize including: Dien Thap (Dien Chau) and Thanh Linh (Thanh Chuong) with a prize of 500 million VND.

After the competitions: Scoring at the grassroots level, and presentation and reportage, Hung Tan commune (Hung Nguyen) excellently won the first prize in the contest "Beautiful New Rural Commune and Beautiful New Rural Village in 2018".

Located in the middle of Hung Nguyen district, Hung Tan commune has a total natural area of 480 hectares, of which 267 hectares are agricultural cultivation areas. The whole commune has 1,050 households with 4,000 people living in 9 residential hamlets. The commune party committee has 282 party members, operating in 12 party cells and this is a unit that has achieved Clean and Strong status for 15 consecutive years. Hung Tan commune was also awarded the title of "Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces" first of Hung Nguyen district in 1998.
In particular, implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, Hung Tan commune was not selected by the district to lead the pilot program, but with the high determination of the Party Committee, government and people, the commune reached the new rural finish line in 2014, becoming the first commune in Hung Nguyen district and the second in Nghe An province to be recognized as meeting new rural standards.

Hung Tan Commune is considered a “livable countryside” with peaceful villages, clean environment, kind people and an average household income of nearly 50 million VND/person/year. The commune has no poor households, the number of fairly rich households accounts for over 60%; 9/9 hamlets of the commune have achieved the title of cultural village since 10 years ago.

Second prize went to Quynh Doi commune (Quynh Luu) with a prize of 700 million VND; 2 communes won third prize including: Dien Thap (Dien Chau) and Thanh Linh (Thanh Chuong) with a prize of 500 million VND; 5 encouraged communes: Nghia Binh (Nghia Dan); Kim Lien (Nam Dan), Nghi Lien (Vinh City), Nghi Xuan (Nghi Loc), Tan Thanh (Yen Thanh) with a prize of 400 million VND.

In addition, the contest's Organizing Committee also awarded subsidiary prizes such as: commune with clean, green environment, beautiful concrete roads; mountainous commune with beautiful landscape; commune with reasonable residential planning...

The first prize for the beautiful new rural village was awarded to Nghia Chinh village (Nghia Lam commune, Nghia Dan district) with a prize worth 300 million VND; the second prize went to Lau 2 village (Chau Tien commune, Quy Chau district) and the third prize went to Thuan Yen village (Nghia Hoan commune, Tan Ky district).

Overall assessment of the contest, comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Organizing Committee of the contest emphasized: Although this is the first time the contest has been held, in a short time, the participating units have made careful and serious preparations; the participating units have had solid reports, reflecting truthfully and vividly the process of building new rural areas in their localities and good presentations.
Through the contest, beautiful new rural communes, villages and hamlets were selected as models for other localities to learn from and replicate. This is also an important basis for successfully building a model new rural commune, linking the construction of new rural areas and civilized urban areas with agricultural development and structural transformation in rural areas.
