Successfully detonated a 225kg bomb

Previously, the bomb was discovered by locals 10 meters away from the Lam River in Thuan Hoa hamlet, Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city.

The bomb is 1.54m long, 0.3m in diameter, weighs 225kg, buried in mud, rusted, and has faded markings.

Upon receiving the information, the Vinh City Military Command promptly sent a working group to the scene to cordon off the area, put up warning signs of the bomb area, inform the people in the area about the situation, and mobilize militia and self-defense forces to guard and protect the bomb area.

The Engineering Department of the Provincial Military Command determined that this was a demolition bomb left over from the war dropped by the US Air Force.

The engineering force of the Provincial Military Command coordinated with the Vinh City Military Command and the Tan Ky District Military Command, along with local Party committees and authorities, to develop a plan and move the bomb away from residential areas to the detonation site in Tan Ky District, ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment.

Immediately afterwards, the bomb was safely destroyed at the demolition site in Tan Long commune, Tan Ky district./.
