Based on the products oriented to participate in the OCOP Program, Anh Son district has selected a number of key products, with strengths or characteristics to orient the development into OCOP products in the period of 2019 - 2020, including 11 products divided into 3 groups. Specifically, in the food group, there are 7 products: Melon, food safety vegetables in Hoi Son commune; Melon, baby cucumber, food safety vegetables in Phuc Son commune; Tapioca starch in Hoa Son commune; Sugar in Dinh Son commune; Bu Kim Nhan orange in Hoi Son commune; Bai Phu orange in Dinh Son commune; Gai cake in Tuong Son commune. Two products in the beverage group are food tea (Gay tea) in Cao Son and Linh Son communes; Green tea in Hung Son commune. Two products in the service group - Rural tourism include Ban Veu eco-tourism in Phuc Son commune; Spiritual tourism of Vietnam - Laos cemetery, Cua Luy temple, Anh Son pagoda.

As a traditional crop that has existed for a long time in Cao Son commune, Gay tea is a key product in hunger eradication and poverty reduction, helping the people of the commune have a stable income. Gay tea was recognized as a collective trademark by the Department of Intellectual Property in 2019 and in February 2020, Gay Cao Son Tea Cooperative was recognized by the People's Committee of Nghe An province as a 3-star product when participating in the program of One Commune One Product of Nghe An province in 2019.

The family of Ms. Ha Thi Loc in village 8, Cao Son commune has been growing Gay tea for more than 20 years. On average, she and her husband harvest 40-50 bundles a day, and their family earns 5-6 million VND per month. Ms. Loc shared: When the local Gay tea product was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as having achieved 3-star status, the people of Cao Son commune were very excited, because this program will increase the economic value of the tea tree, which is one of the most favorable conditions to affirm the reputation, bring the product to consumers in and outside the province, and bring high profits to the people.

Coconut sticky rice cake is also one of the products selected by Anh Son district to participate in the OCOP Program in 2019.

Mr. Tran Thanh Tam - Vice Chairman of Tuong Son Commune People's Committee said: Currently, the whole commune has nearly 30 establishments making gai cakes, of which 4 households are professional producers who hire workers and pay daily wages. On average, each day, people making gai cakes in Tuong Son commune produce about 10,000 - 15,000 gai cakes. Tuong Son people really hope that when implementing the OCOP Program, gai cake products will be built a product chain linking from producers to consumers, with close links between 4 houses (managers, scientists, farmers and businesses) to further enhance the value of local typical products, build brands to increasingly expand the product consumption market.

To effectively implement the OCOP Program, the People's Committee of Anh Son District has issued an Implementation Plan for the period 2019 - 2020, with a vision to 2030, and decided to establish an executive board. At the same time, training and knowledge training will be organized for 100% of managers and operators of the OCOP Program in districts, communes, and towns, and 100% of business leaders, cooperatives, and production households registered to participate in the program.

The program "One Commune One Product" in Anh Son district not only has the meaning of creating jobs, promoting creativity and intelligence of the people, building sustainable community economic links but is also the right and accurate direction in spreading local brands.

The good news is that in February 2020, the People's Committee of Nghe An province decided to evaluate and classify products participating in the "One Commune One Product" Program of Nghe An province in 2019. Anh Son district had 3 products ranked 3 stars: Gay Cao Son tea, Kim Nhan orange and Hung Son green tea./.
