Dien Chau district has 3 more outbreaks of African swine fever
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 9, 3 more localities in Dien Chau district detected pigs positive for African swine fever, including: Dien My, Dien Bich and Dien Quang. Thus, within 10 days, 7 outbreaks of African swine fever occurred in Dien Chau district.

On the afternoon of May 9, Mr. Nguyen Trong Bon - Head of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station of Dien Chau district said that the Veterinary Agency of Region II had test results of specimens in 3 communes: Dien My, Dien Bich and Dien Quang positive for African swine fever.

Previously, on May 7 and 8, veterinary agencies took samples from sick pigs of the families of Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan in Hamlet 14, Dien My Commune; Nguyen Thi Hoi in Quyet Thang Hamlet, Dien Bich Commune and 2 households in Hamlet 3, Dien Quang Commune, namely Phan Xuan Hung and Le Xuan Duong.

Thus, in just 10 days, from May 1 to May 9, in Dien Chau district, 7 African swine fever outbreaks occurred in 7 communes: Dien Van, Dien Kim, Dien Thai, Dien Truong, Dien My, Dien Quang and Dien Bich.
On the afternoon of May 9, the authorities of the three above-mentioned localities deployed solutions to prevent African swine fever under the guidance of specialized agencies.
In the immediate future, the district People's Committee will allocate VND10 million from the budget to support each commune with African swine fever to buy lime powder and monitor the epidemic. The district has also directed localities to assign specific tasks to each member of the epidemic prevention committee when an epidemic occurs.

Mr. Dang Van Minh - Deputy Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine said: The rapid spread of African swine fever in Dien Chau district in recent days is worrying. If the disease is not well controlled, this locality is at risk of declaring African swine fever in the entire district./.
