(Baonghean.vn) - The People's Committee of Nam Dan district has decided to declare the end of African swine fever in the district. In the immediate future, activities of buying, selling, slaughtering, and using pork will return to normal in these localities.

After 30 days since the latest outbreak of African swine fever in Nam Nghia commune, up to now, Nam Dan district has not had any new outbreaks. Based on regulations, the People's Committee of Nam Dan district issued Decision No. 3667/QD-UBND announcing the end of African swine fever in the epidemic area of ​​Nam Nghia commune; abolishing the threatened epidemic area including Nam Thanh, Van Dien, Nam Thai and Nam Hung communes.

Previously, African swine fever appeared in Nam Dan district on March 30, 2019 at the family of Mr. Nguyen Quang Ngan in hamlet 10, Nam Nghia commune. After that, the epidemic continued to spread to 2 households in hamlets 9 and 11 in the commune. The total number of pigs that had to be destroyed was 110, with a total weight of 4,658 kg.

Up to now, Nam Dan is one of the localities that has controlled African swine fever best in the province. Although the epidemic has occurred for 3 months, the epidemic is only limited to Nam Nghia commune and has not spread to a second locality.

With a total herd of nearly 40,000 pigs and a large number of farms (150), we are aware of the danger if the disease spreads widely. The district has directed Nam Nghia commune to set the highest warning level, strictly implement disease prevention measures, especially 24/7 guard duty to prevent the disease from spreading.
