Nghi Loc district will merge Nghi Khanh and Nghi Hop communes.
(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the policy of merging and rearranging administrative units, on the morning of August 29, the People's Council of Nghi Loc district, term XIX, held the 9th session (extraordinary session) to carry out the steps to merge the two communes of Nghi Hop and Nghi Khanh.

Accordingly, at the meeting, 100% of the district People's Council delegates present voted unanimously to approve the "Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units in Nghi Loc district for the period 2019 - 2021" with the plan: merging Nghi Hop commune and Nghi Khanh commune.
Specifically: merge the entire 3.8 km2natural area with 3,900 people of Nghi Hop commune and the entire 4.11 km2natural area with 5,200 people of Nghi Khanh to establish a new commune-level administrative unit called Khanh Hop. Khanh Hop commune has a natural area of 7.91 km2, 9,100 people.
The survey showed that 95.44% of voters in Nghi Hop and Nghi Khanh communes agreed to merge Nghi Khanh and Nghi Hop communes into Khanh Hop commune.

The administrative boundaries of Khanh Hop commune after being merged are determined as follows: to the North, it borders Nghi Tan ward (Cua Lo town) and Nghi Quang commune; to the South, it borders Nghi Thach commune and Nghi Thinh commune; to the East, it borders Nghi Thu ward (Cua Lo town) and to the West, it borders Nghi Xa commune and Nghi Thinh commune.
In the immediate future, the office building of Nghi Khanh commune will become the headquarters of the new commune of Khanh Hop.
