Sam To district wishes Que Phong district a happy new year

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 27, the delegation of Sam To district, Lao PDR, led by comrade Chan Phen Phang Pho My - Deputy Secretary, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, visited and extended New Year greetings to the leaders and people of Que Phong district on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2016.

Sam To district leaders presented gifts to Que Phong district.

Que Phong is a mountainous border district, with over 73km of border adjacent to Sam To and Muong Quan districts. In recent years, the districts have mobilized ethnic groups on both sides to build a peaceful and friendly border between the people of the two countries; organized twinning ceremonies between border villages such as Muong Phu, Thong Thu commune, Nam Tay village, Vieng Phan cluster, Sam To district, Huoi Moi village, Tri Le commune, and Den Din village - Phan Thong cluster, Muong Quan district.

The two sides also regularly organize bilateral patrols to ensure border defense; create conditions for people from both sides to visit relatives as well as live and work with peace of mind.

At the meeting, the leaders of the two districts briefly informed about the socio-economic development results of each district and expressed their determination to continue contributing to building the peaceful and friendly relationship between Vietnam and Laos "forever green, forever sustainable".
