Tuong Duong district received and paid more than 209 billion VND for forest protection services.
(Baonghean.vn) - On March 8, Tuong Duong district held a conference to review 5 years of implementing Directive No. 13-CT/TW dated January 12, 2017 of the Central Party Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in forest protection and development.
Tuong Duong is the first and only district in Nghe An province to concretize the contents of the Directive by developing a Project to implement Directive No. 13 in the district. Over the past 5 years, the contents of the Project have been implemented synchronously from the district to the grassroots, creating a strong change in awareness, consciousness and responsibility of the entire political system and the whole society regarding forest management, protection and development.

The Forest Protection Department, Police, Military Command, Border Guard Stations, Commune People's Committees, and forest owners have coordinated very well in patrolling, inspecting, and suppressing illegal exploitation of forests, minerals, and hunting of wild animals, designing and planting forests, allocating land and forests, and propagating laws...
The Forest Protection Department coordinated with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to carry out forest allocation, associated with forestry land allocation and issuance of Land Use Right Certificates in 12/17 communes.
Forest development work continues to receive investment support from the District People's Committee in terms of design costs and seedlings for concentrated forest planting each year from 800-1,200 hectares. In addition, the District Party Committee and the District People's Committee always pay attention to and call for investors from outside, including projects with foreign investment sources. In the period of 2017-2022, the locality has organized the planting of 7,602 hectares of concentrated forest plantations and 52,987 scattered trees; the output of forest plantation exploitation reached 37,552.857 m3wood of all kinds such as acacia, xoan, lat, jackfruit... and more than 1,611,473 trees, estimated revenue of over 100 billion VND.

In the district, there are 6 units responsible for paying forest protection fees; every year, the units coordinate with the Provincial Forest Protection and Development Fund to review and determine the area to be paid to beneficiaries.
From 2017 to now, the locality has paid 1,107,022.56 hectares with the amount of 209,450 billion VND. Of which, the Forest Protection Department paid 62,929 billion VND, the Protective Forest Management Board paid 93,125 billion VND, Tuong Duong Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. paid 13,252 billion VND, the Youth Volunteer Corps 9 paid 5,166 billion VND; Pu Mat National Park paid 11,771 billion VND; Pu Huong Nature Reserve paid 10,370 billion VND.
At the conference, delegates focused on discussing directions and tasks for the coming time, and proposed solutions to effectively implement Directive No. 13 of the Secretariat.

Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, the Party Committee and the government from the district to the grassroots level will continue to effectively implement the contents of Directive No. 13 and Project No. 3500. Focus on reviewing, arranging and reorganizing specialized forest protection forces to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in forest management, protection and development; improve the effectiveness of fighting and preventing crimes in the forestry sector; cooperate internationally, promote bilateral cooperation with the Lao PDR, to enhance information exchange, ensure forest management, protection, development and forest product management in border areas; patrol, promptly prevent and strictly handle cases of illegal buying, selling and transporting of forest products; have effective measures to prevent and promptly handle acts of repatriation from resettlement areas, forest encroachment, illegal destruction of natural forests for slash-and-burn production and illegal conversion of forest use purposes...
