Repairing some unfinished houses with roofs blown off by tornadoes
(Baonghean.vn) - In recent days, strong winds and tornadoes have occurred in Tuong Duong district. This extreme weather phenomenon has caused some houses for the poor that were not yet fully built and supported by the provincial police to be torn apart.
Faced with that situation, Major General Pham The Tung - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department directed relevant units to be present promptly to survey and assess the cause, and have a solution to hand over the house on schedule.

Accordingly, on April 24-25, the survey team including the Logistics Department of Nghe An Provincial Police, experts from the Department of Construction, and the North Central Region Hydrometeorological Station worked with relevant units to survey damaged housing projects for the poor and people with housing difficulties in Tuong Duong district.
Specifically, in Cha Lo village (Mai Son commune), Pha Khao village (Nhon Mai commune), through on-site inspection, 15 prefabricated houses for the poor were damaged by the tornado, and the panel at the gable wall of the house was blown out by the wind.
In fact, the damaged houses are those that have not been fully assembled (no doors or windows installed), have not had their front walls fixed, and are located in open areas.
In Cha Lum village, Yen Tinh commune, after inspection, the tornado damaged an unfinished house. In the surrounding area, prefabricated houses that had been completed and put into use were not affected, while 2 solidly built houses had their roofs blown off.
Faced with that situation, the Director of the Provincial Police Department directed relevant units of the Provincial Police Department to coordinate with the Department of Construction and the North Central Hydrometeorological Station to develop a plan to handle and overcome the situation immediately.
The Director also requested the construction units to rebuild damaged houses, reinforce storm and wind protection equipment, promptly complete and hand over the houses according to the set schedule; gather enough raw materials to deploy and complete the construction of each house at the same time and hand over to the households for use (avoid prolonging).
He also noted that construction units, during the process of drilling and installing foundation bolts, if the position of the concrete foundation pillars is not in accordance with the design drawings, must temporarily stop construction and notify local authorities to correct and complete according to the design before implementation./.
