(Baonghean.vn) -Many passengers are frustrated after waiting for many days but still cannot buy cheap tickets for 10,000 VND as previously advertised by the railway company.

On June 14, Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company (HARACO) announced the sale of cheap tickets at 10,000 VND/ticket on the ticket sales website of Vietnam Railways Corporation and ticket offices to serve passengers traveling on trains managed by the company.

Previously, this company had widely informed about the sale of 8,000 tickets priced at 10,000 VND to passengers traveling on trains managed by the company running on routes from June 14 to June 18, 2017 (open for sale for 5 days). Applicable to passengers buying tickets to travel from June 19 to August 30, 2017.

With the above information, as one of the departure points of the journey with preferential policies, many people have flocked to Vinh station with the hope of owning cheap tickets.

While waiting to buy tickets, people were explained by station staff that this program only applies to lucky passengers with the probability selection on the ticketing system. This made many people angry, accusing the railway industry of deceiving passengers.

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh (Vinh City) said: “Like many people, I went to the station to line up to buy cheap tickets, but the ticket seller explained that these tickets were random. This is no different from playing the lottery, the railway industry is cheating customers.”

Some passengers also reported that they bought tickets online but always received a message that the website was overloaded.

Responding to Nghe An Newspaper reporters on this issue, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh - Director of Vinh Railway Transport Business Center admitted that the incomplete information caused passengers to misunderstand that every time they came to the station and requested to buy a ticket for 10,000 VND, it would be met.

Mr. Thanh explained that the method of selling cheap tickets at 10,000 VND is sold randomly, meaning that only when the passenger completes the online booking or when the ticket seller enters the information of the buyer will the electronic ticket selling system display the price of 10,000 VND. Therefore, only when the passenger pays will they know whether they have purchased a cheap ticket or not.

Mr. Thanh also said that the 10,000 VND tickets were posted on the electronic ticketing system randomly, without any rules and without being influenced by subjectivity, including employees in the industry.
