Passenger carries backpack containing rhino horn worth 4 billion VND onto plane
Checking the luggage of a man who had just landed on a flight from Nghe An to Ho Chi Minh City, authorities discovered rhino horn weighing 4 kg, worth 4 billion VND.
On the afternoon of November 19, the Department of Police for Crime Prevention on Smuggling (C74) of the Ministry of Public Security, said that it had coordinated with functional forces to check the carry-on luggage of Nguyen Duc Nguyen (40 years old, from Nghe An) when he had just landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City).
In Nguyen's backpack, in addition to personal belongings, there was also a 4 kg block of rhino horn. The police have detained this person and the rhino horn for investigation.

Working with the police, Nguyen stated that he bought the animal horns from a man in Nghe An and then transported them to Ho Chi Minh City for sale. With that weight, the horns are worth about 4 billion VND.
Police are detaining Nguyen and the evidence to serve the investigation.
