Opening of the 2018 Lotus Village Festival

The Lotus Village Festival originated from the “Singing from Lotus Village” Festival, which was first held in May 1982. It was then upgraded to the Lotus Village Festival, held annually at the provincial level and every five years at the national level.

After 37 years of formation and development, the Sen Village Festival has become a major festival for the people of Nghe An in particular and the people of the whole country in general. The Sen Village Festival is held to honor the ideological values ​​of Ho Chi Minh, the outstanding communist soldier, national liberation hero, and outstanding cultural celebrity.

The 2018 Lotus Village Festival is held at the provincial level. The opening speech presented by comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee reviewed the life and career of the great President Ho Chi Minh - a noble symbol of revolutionary heroism, a bright example for future generations to follow.

The 2018 Sen Village Festival, celebrating the 128th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, took place in an atmosphere where the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people were excitedly celebrating the 70th anniversary of Uncle Ho's call for patriotic emulation; sectors and levels organized a preliminary review of 2 years of implementing Directive 05/CT-TW of the 12th Party Central Committee. This is a precious opportunity for the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army to more specifically recognize their responsibilities in promoting the tradition of patriotism, the morality of remembering the source of water when drinking, consolidating and building the great national unity bloc, for the cause of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization.

On the opening night of the 2018 Sen Village Festival, delegates and people in the province watched a special art program "Offering You a Song of the Homeland" with 12 mixed music and dance performances praising Uncle Ho, the Party and the love for the homeland performed by professional and non-professional art troupes.

Before the opening ceremony of the festival, the delegation of provincial leaders and departments, branches and sectors respectfully offered incense and flowers to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at Kim Lien Relic Site, expressing their infinite gratitude for his great contributions; and organized a ceremony to carry Uncle Ho's photo from the Memorial House to Lang Sen Stadium./.
