Free medical examination, medicine and gifts for poor people in Cua Lo town
(Baonghean.vn) - Towards the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2023), on the morning of May 17, the Hanoi Red Cross Society coordinated with the Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Society to organize the program "Safety for poor and disadvantaged fishermen" in Cua Lo town.
Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hien - Vice President of Hanoi Red Cross Society and representatives of Red Cross Societies of districts and towns of Hanoi city. On behalf of Nghe An Red Cross Society, there was Mr. Pham Xuan Thach - Vice President of the Society.
The program organized health check-ups, health consultations and free medicine distribution for poor fishermen in Nghi Thuy ward, Cua Lo town; at the same time, gifts were given to people who came for check-ups, each gift worth more than 1.5 million VND.
On this occasion, the Hanoi Red Cross also donated money to build a Red Cross house (worth 50 million VND) for fishermen in particularly difficult circumstances; donated 10 bicycles, 20 scholarships and 1,000 secondary school notebooks to students who have overcome difficulties in their studies. The total value of the gifts supported and donated by the program's Organizing Committee to fishermen and poor students in Cua Lo town is nearly 236 million VND.
