Two gatekeepers prosecuted in train derailment accident

Previously, at around 0:27 on May 24, at km234+053, the North-South railway line in Truong Lam commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province, there was an especially serious railway traffic accident that killed 2 people and injured 10 people (including 9 people on train SE19, and Mr. Ho Sy Nam, 34 years old, residing in Quynh Xuan ward, Hoang Mai town, Nghe An province, was the truck driver who was involved in the accident).

Immediately after receiving the report and determining the particularly serious nature of the traffic accident, the Director, Deputy Director - Head of the Investigation Police Agency of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police were directly present at the scene to direct the professional units of the Provincial Police to coordinate with the functional agencies of the province and the General Department of Railways - Ministry of Transport to organize rescue, traffic diversion, stabilize security and order, organize scene investigation, autopsy, collect relevant information and documents to investigate and clarify the cause of the accident.

At the same time, advise Thanh Hoa provincial leaders to mobilize buses to take passengers on train SE19 to the next station to continue the journey, and organize visits and encouragement for casualties.

This is a particularly serious traffic accident, receiving special attention from the public, so the Director of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police has directed professional units to organize an investigation, quickly clarify the cause of the accident, identify the criminals for focused handling.

Based on the collected information, documents and evidence, on May 25, the Investigation Police Agency of Thanh Hoa Province Police agreed with the Provincial People's Procuracy to decide to prosecute the criminal case of "Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences" as prescribed in Article 360 ​​- Penal Code 2015; Prosecute 2 defendants who are level crossing guards of Thanh Hoa Railway Company including: Nguyen Van Hung, 35 years old and Pham Van Vui, 40 years old, both residing in Khoa Truong village, Truong Lam commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province for the act of lack of responsibility causing a traffic accident causing serious consequences, and at the same time issue an order to temporarily detain the above 2 defendants for 3 months.

Currently, the Director of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police is focusing on directing relevant units to continue collecting evidence and documents, investigating and clarifying the entire case for strict handling according to the provisions of law.
