Nghe An Fisheries Surveillance fined 5 fishing boats for illegal fishing
(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the program of inspecting and monitoring coastal fishing activities, from August 20 to 25, the Fisheries Control force under the Nghe An Fisheries Sub-Department conducted 4 inspection trips from the southern area of Cua Lo port to the northern area of Lach Con port (Hoang Mai town).

Within 5 days, Nghe An Fisheries Surveillance force approached 30 vehicles to check administrative procedures and distribute leaflets to promote the protection of aquatic resources and combat illegal fishing to fishermen.
Through inspection, 5 fishing vessels were discovered to be in violation and administrative fines totaling 32.5 million VND were imposed.The fishing boats that were penalized were mainly fishermen from Dien Ngoc and Dien Hung communes, Dien Chau district, who fished in the wrong waters. The crew and boat owners exploited and caught fish without certificates, and the boat owners did not keep full fishing logs...

According to Mr. Nguyen Chi Luong - Head of the Fisheries Sub-Department, during the August inspection, in addition to performing the functions and tasks as prescribed, the Sub-Department also arranged for its staff to go on field trips to clearly understand the situation of exploitation activities in coastal and offshore waters of the province; thereby guiding fishermen to exploit and protect aquatic resources better and better.
