(Baonghean.vn) - That is the purpose of the training course "Applying One Health Core Competency in Planning for Prevention of Diseases Transmitted from Animals and Humans" for medical and veterinary staff in Nghe An.

On the morning of December 12, Vinh Medical University in collaboration with the National Coordinating Office of the Vietnam University One Health Network (VOHUN) - University of Public Health organized a training course on "Applying One Health Core Competencies in Planning for Prevention of Diseases Transmitted from Animals and Humans" for medical and veterinary staff in Nghe An.

During the 3 days from December 12-14, officers currently working at the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of the province and 21 districts, cities and towns in the province were trained on the following contents: One Health - Core competencies; Overview of diseases transmitted between animals and humans; Applying the One Health approach in preventing diseases transmitted between animals and humans; Identifying difficulties and proposing solutions in the prevention and control of diseases transmitted between animals and humans.

In the context of the impact of climate change, the problem of epidemics is not only a national problem. In addition, controlling health factors, food safety in animal husbandry, food is very necessary, factors affecting transmission between humans and animals are very necessary.

Through the training course, the trainees will approach One Health and One Health core competencies. From there, they will apply One Health core competencies in planning to prevent and control infectious diseases between humans and animals. Update knowledge and understanding of issues related to health and environmental medicine.

From there, there will be closer coordination between the medical, veterinary and environmental sectors in better protecting human health.
