Tire-damaging parking styles that Vietnamese drivers should avoid

Parking with half your feet on the sidewalk is a parking mistake that any driver can make, causing tire swelling if repeated many times.

Parking close to the sidewalk or parking on the sidewalk with the wheels on the street are common parking styles in Vietnam due to narrow roads and heavy traffic. A common mistake that drivers make is parking too close to the sidewalk, resulting in the tires being half on the street and half on the sidewalk as shown in the photo below.

Parking style is prone to flat tires.

When parking in this way, the pressure on the tire is uneven, the tire sidewall above the inclined edge is under great pressure, causing the tire to deform. In the short term, this type of parking may not cause any harm, but if you park like this many times and for a long time, the swelling on the tire will not be able to return to its original shape.

The swollen area on the tire will lose its elasticity, become thinner than before, and can slowly degenerate the rubber, making it susceptible to explosions and cuts by sharp rocks and curbs.

Drivers should be careful not to park recklessly in this way. If you must park with your feet up, put all the wheels on the sidewalk. Always keep the entire wheel in contact with the ground so that pressure is applied to all points on the tire surface, avoiding uneven pressure leading to tire swelling./.
