On November 11, a photo of a piece of paper stuck to a car window appeared on social media with the message: “I accidentally hit the car mirror. I apologize. Contact me via phone number... so I can compensate. Because I don’t know who the car owner is.” Immediately after that, there were thousands of likes and comments praising the student’s actions and saying that he was very responsible for what he had done.

Nguyen The T., an 11th grade student at Tran Nguyen Han High School, Le Chan District, Hai Phong City, the student who caused the above accident, said that at around 12 noon on November 11, after school, he was riding his electric bike home. When he rode his electric bike to an alley on An Duong Street, he suddenly hit the mirror of a car parked on the side of the road. After the collision, the mirror broke, shattering the mirror surface.

“At that time, I didn’t see the car owner, so I wrote down the content and phone number on a piece of paper so that when the car owner came out, he would contact me and pay me back. That same afternoon, a man called me back and said he was the car owner and asked if I broke the mirror. I said yes and apologized. After that, the car owner said he wouldn’t charge me,” T said, adding that because he was driving slowly, he wasn’t scratched.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Trung, a doctor working at the Hai Phong City Acupuncture Association, the owner of the Mazda 3 car, said that in the morning of the same day, he parked his car near the school area. At noon, when Mr. Trung went to get his car, he discovered a broken mirror, along with a piece of paper stuck to the car window.

“In the afternoon, I called the student again. The student told me that he accidentally broke your car mirror. He apologized to you and wanted to pay you back. However, I told you to forgive him. He did not ask you to pay him back. He found your actions very admirable so he wanted to call and ask how you were doing,” Trung shared.

According to Mr. Trung, the mirror's surface was blown off and the plastic cover was broken. He is currently busy so he hasn't replaced it yet.
