(Baonghean.vn) - That is the assessment of the working group of the Japan International Cultural Research Institute after surveying many cultural heritage sites in Nam Dan district.

Continuing to promote the achievements in implementing the project of diversifying livelihoods based on heritage tourism in Nghe An agricultural and fishing villages in the period of 2015 - 2018, from March 10 - 11, the Japanese delegation led by Professor Tomoda Hiromichi - Director of the Japan International Cultural Research Institute and associates had a working trip to Nghe An.

The working group has a program to re-survey cultural heritage sites in Nam Dan district and have a working session and share with the local authorities of Khanh Son commune - where hundreds of years old ancient houses with cultural values ​​left by our ancestors are still preserved.

On this occasion, the delegation also had a working session with the leaders of the two Departments of Culture and Sports; Department of Tourism and the People's Committee of Nam Dan district. At the meeting, the delegation assessed that Khanh Son ancient village will be one of the places that can be built and developed similarly to: Phuoc Tich ancient village - Thua Thien Hue, Duong Lam - Hanoi, Cai Be - Tien Giang province, Hoi An ancient town... supported by the Japan International Institute for Vietnam.

The Japanese delegation recommended that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism soon coordinate with Nam Dan district and relevant departments and branches to immediately prepare a dossier to submit to the Provincial People's Committee to propose recognizing Khanh Son Ancient Village as a provincial-level relic in 2019 and carry out the following contents.

To promote the values ​​of relics, including Khanh Son ancient village, the Department commits to actively advise and prepare relevant documents to submit to the Provincial People's Committee to recognize Khanh Son ancient village as a provincial relic as soon as possible.

In parallel with preparing the documents, the two Departments will direct the locality to soon develop a draft of operating regulations, consult with people in Khanh Son ancient village, organize training to welcome tourists, develop a propaganda plan, develop local products as gifts, promote tourists to the ancient village; continue to request the province to invest in infrastructure to help tourists and travel businesses easily access Khanh Son ancient village according to the route built by the project in the past time.

In recent times, the Japanese government, specifically the JICA Office in Vietnam, has had many policies to support and assist Nghe An in developing agricultural heritage tourism projects. Initially, the projects have brought about outstanding results in creating agricultural products, gifts for tourists and developing community homestay tourism in the western districts of Nghe An.
