Provincial leaders congratulate Border Guard on traditional day

On the morning of March 3, a working delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee led by Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee came to congratulate the Provincial Border Guard Command on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the Border Guard's traditional day (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2021) and the 32nd anniversary of the People's Border Guard Day (March 3, 1989 - March 3, 2021).

Presenting a beautiful flower basket to congratulate the Provincial Border Guard Command on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of its tradition, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that in the past time, the Provincial Border Guard has performed well its political tasks, making important contributions to the common achievements of the province, especially the noble task of protecting national border security and sovereignty.

The Border Guard has built and strengthened the friendly border with Laos; actively coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to carry out socio-economic development tasks, helping people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, thereby helping border districts to be more steadfast in carrying out their tasks.

Emphasizing that the drug crime situation in Nghe An has been extremely complicated recently, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee acknowledged the results achieved by the Provincial Border Guard in fighting and destroying many large drug trafficking rings, arresting many dangerous drug criminals, thereby contributing to maintaining security and order in the province.

In particular, over the past year, the Border Guard force has actively, responsibly and effectively participated in the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. The silent sacrifices of the Provincial Border Guard in general and the officers and soldiers at the border checkpoints in particular, especially during the Lunar New Year 2021, have been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee and the People, contributing to helping people in the province have a peaceful and warm Tet holiday.

Comrade Nguyen Van Thong said that Nghe An is a large, complex area with a long border, with many trading and exchange activities. However, up to this point, the province has still maintained stability, especially up to this point, the province has not recorded any cases of Covid-19 infection. Contributing to that success is the great role of the provincial Border Guard force.

On behalf of the Provincial Border Guard Command, Colonel Tran Hai Binh - Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command thanked the provincial leaders for their timely attention and encouragement; Party committees and authorities at all levels have created favorable conditions to help the entire Border Guard force successfully complete the assigned tasks.

Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, the provincial leaders have paid attention, encouraged, and directly visited officers and soldiers at the epidemic prevention and control checkpoints on the border. This is a great source of encouragement, helping the Border Guard officers and soldiers to be more confident, continue to stay on the border, prevent illegal entry, and effectively contribute to the work of preventing and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic in the province.

Reporting on the outstanding results of the provincial Border Guard force in 2020, Colonel Tran Hai Binh said that in the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, the provincial Border Guard force successfully fought 5 illegal entry cases; detected and arrested nearly 150 cases of illegal entry. In addition, the Border Guard force coordinated with other forces to detect and arrest many illegal drug trafficking rings.

Entering 2021, in addition to the tasks of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic and preventing drug crimes, the Provincial Border Guard will continue to do a good job of consolidating the grassroots political system, helping people in border districts to eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and ensure social security. Thereby, continuing to firmly ensure national border security, contributing more positively to the socio-economic development of the province.
