Provincial leaders inspect election work in Nghi Loc district
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 19, the provincial working delegation led by Comrade Cao Thi Hien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee, conducted inspection and supervision (phase 2) of the election work in Nghi Loc district.
Also participating in the delegation were comrades: Le Duc Cuong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee; Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Kha Van Tam - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation; Tran Thi Thu Huong - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Nghe An province and representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches.

Working with the provincial delegation, the representative of Nghi Loc district leaders said that preparations for the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term have been and are being deployed synchronously, fully and on schedule according to the provisions of the Election Law and the plan of the Nghe An Provincial Election Committee.
In particular, the work of ensuring security, order and social safety has been focused on by the district Party Committee and government, with four key plans to respond to situations that may occur before, during and after election day.
Faced with the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, the locality has directed the District Health Center to participate in medical teams serving at 194 polling stations. At the same time, 29 mobile medical teams from 29 district health stations and 1 medical team from the rapid response team were established with full equipment, medicine, and emergency vehicles.

After inspecting 3 election units in Phuc Tho commune, Nghi Phong commune and Quan Hanh town, the working group acknowledged the careful preparation of work related to the election, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and on schedule. Up to now, the material conditions, means, human resources and resources for the election have been basically ensured.
In the coming days, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long noted that from now until the election day, the locality needs to continue to be proactive and closely follow the directives of the National Election Council, the Prime Minister, the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, and relevant central ministries, branches and sectors to ensure political security, social order and safety, and promptly and effectively prevent and respond to outbreaks of epidemics during the implementation of election activities.
It is necessary to provide detailed instructions, step by step, for each task in a specific context, such as how to measure body temperature, disinfect at checkpoints, distance, and quarantine... in accordance with regulations.

ComradeLe Duc Cuong further emphasized that the fluctuations in voters related to workers in industrial zones who are allowed to return to their hometowns, and university and college students who are allowed to return to their hometowns, could affect the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic. Therefore, localities need to come up with specific and timely response plans.
Concluding the meeting, Comrade Cao Thi Hien noted that although Nghi Loc has prepared very well for the election, it must not be negligent or subjective in the upcoming peak days. She emphasized that there are only 4 days left until the election day, to ensure that the election is held successfully, democratically, and in accordance with the law, the locality needs to strengthen inspection, supervision, and grasp the situation. From there, unify awareness and high determination in action of the Party Committee, government, and all classes of people to prepare most carefully and fully for the election.

In the days before, during and after the election, members of the Election Committee are requested to focus on election work while ensuring security and order and preventing and combating the Covid-19 pandemic. Proactively respond promptly and effectively to situations arising from practice, ensuring the election is successful.
