At the ceremony, provincial leaders offered incense to commemorate Vice President Nguyen Sinh Sac, expressing their deep respect for the life and patriotism of President Ho Chi Minh's father.
Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac was born in 1862 in Sen Village, Chung Cu Commune, Lam Thinh Commune, Nam Duong District, Nghe An Province (now Sen 3 Hamlet, Kim Lien Commune, Nam Dan District, Nghe An Province). His father was Nguyen Sinh Nham, a gentle, simple, hard-working farmer, and his mother was Ha Thi Hy, a capable and talented woman.
At the age of 3, Nguyen Sinh Sac lost his father, at the age of 4 he lost his mother and was raised by his older half-brother Nguyen Sinh Tro. Growing up, Nguyen Sinh Sac had to work to help his siblings and did not have the conditions to go to school.
Sympathizing with Nguyen Sinh Sac's difficult circumstances, teacher Hoang Xuan Duong in Hoang Tru Village, Kim Lien Commune took Sac in and raised him, giving him food and education. After a period of studying and making progress, Nguyen Sinh Sac was increasingly "loved by everyone for his virtue and respected for his talent", and teacher Hoang Xuan Duong married his first daughter, Hoang Thi Loan.
