Mr. Bui Duc Loc, Director of Vinh Urban Infrastructure Management and Development Company, said: Currently, the Vinh River water level has risen too high, the difference between the ground level and the drainage level in Vinh Market is 1.8m, so it is necessary to pump it out. Because if the water in the sewer system is not pumped out in time, when there is heavy rain, the area around Vinh Market will be flooded even more severely.

As of 7:00 p.m. on October 13, the water level in the Vinh River has risen very high, in many sections the level is only 1 meter from the dike surface. According to forecasts, the water level will continue to rise tonight due to the high tide blocking the flow. Currently, forces including the army, police, militia and local forces of Vinh Tan Ward with nearly 1,000 people are still continuing to make efforts to deploy measures to reinforce 60 meters of weak dike, at high risk of breaking in Tan Phuong block (Vinh Tan Ward). |
