Ceremony of appointing the abbot and casting the great bell at De Thich Pagoda
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 30, De Thich Pagoda in Quynh Nghia Commune, Quynh Luu District held a ceremony to announce the decision to appoint the abbot and cast the great bell. Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, leaders of the Provincial Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; provincial departments, branches and sectors, and a large number of monks, nuns and Buddhists inside and outside the province.

De Thich Pagoda is an ancient pagoda built during the Tran Dynasty. After the ups and downs of history and the devastation of war, the pagoda was restored and renovated, becoming a place for Buddhists near and far to practice and practice their beliefs.

On March 26, 2018, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province issued Decision No. 16/QD - the Executive Committee officially appointed Venerable Thich Truc Bao Thanh, currently studying at Ba Vang Pagoda, Quang Ninh Province, as the abbot of the pagoda, responsible for organizing Buddhist activities at De Thich Pagoda according to the Charter of the Sangha, the regulations of the Central Sangha Council and the laws of the State.
