Le Tan Tai declares to "avoid" Le Cong Vinh because of the autobiography "Minute 89"
Former Vietnam Bronze Ball winner Le Tan Tai said that he was not interested in Le Cong Vinh's autobiography before, but knowing that Cong Vinh said something that Tan Tai thought was not true about him in the story, Tan Tai was very disappointed.
Le Tan Tai emphasized: "What I said from now on I will not look at or greet Le Cong Vinh is true. If he disrespected me when he wrote about me like that, why should I respect him?"
“I always thought that Cong Vinh and I were normal, both on and off the field, but now it’s over. Not everything can be told, especially when it’s not true about someone else like that,” Le Tan Tai added.
Previously, in his autobiography “Minute 89” which is causing much controversy in the football world, Le Cong Vinh wrote: “Before the 2014 AFF Cup, Mr. Miura saw the problem: In the matches he put me together with Van Quyet and Tan Tai, these two players almost never passed the ball to me. Quyet occasionally passed the ball, Tai absolutely did not.”

Former national team captain Le Tan Tai announced to "avoid" Le Cong Vinh, because Tan Tai thought Cong Vinh wrote incorrectly about him in his autobiography "Minute 89". |
“Everyone in Binh Duong knows that Tai never passed the ball to me. I just didn’t expect that when he reached the national team, Tan Tai still couldn’t put aside his grudge against me to work towards a common goal. I consider that a failure of the team of which I am a part,” Cong Vinh added in his autobiography.
Le Tan Tai affirmed that his playing style has never been about liking one person or disliking another on the field. He respects all his teammates: “When I go on the field, I always think, whichever striker or teammate is most convenient or open, I will pass to that person. From the day I started playing football until Cong Vinh retired, I passed the ball a lot for Cong Vinh to score.”
“The times when I assisted Cong Vinh to score many goals, he did not mention it in his autobiography. On the contrary, when I did not pass the ball, why would he write about it?” - Tan Tai added.
Le Tan Tai and Le Cong Vinh spent a long time playing together for B.Binh Duong Club and the national team. They were both players who made important contributions to the Vietnamese team winning the AFF Cup 2008.
Exactly 10 years ago, Tan Tai and many others still remember the landmark final match in the first leg in Bangkok (Thailand), which helped the Vietnamese team overcome the Golden Temple team to win the Southeast Asian championship.
In the first leg of the final match mentioned above, in the situation where the Vietnamese team scored the second goal, Le Tan Tai had a brave fight when he rushed between the two central defenders of the Thai team who were over 1m80 tall (Tan Tai is only over 1m60 tall), won the ball for Viet Thang, then Viet Thang passed it to Cong Vinh who kicked it into the empty net, scoring. That was also Le Cong Vinh's first goal at the AFF Cup that year, after the entire group stage was filled with disappointment.
Tan Tai recalled: "If it weren't for that goal coming from me, from my self-sacrificing tackle, Le Cong Vinh's career would have taken a different direction, maybe it would have ended, it wouldn't be like it is now."
Tan Tai regrets that Cong Vinh did not mention his teammates when there were good memories, but said many things that should not have been said. Tan Tai also believes that not only he, but many other colleagues will react to Cong Vinh's autobiography.
