Ceremony to invite hundreds of years old stele and announce the entry of Giap Vinh pagoda

(Baonghean.vn) - After a period of wandering, the hundreds of years old stele of Giap Vinh pagoda in Lac Son commune (Do Luong) was invited back to the pagoda amid the joy of monks, nuns and Buddhists.

On the morning of September 16, at Giap Vinh pagoda, the ancient stele offering ceremony and the temple entrance ceremony took place. Attending the ceremony were representatives of departments and offices of Do Luong district, leaders of Lac Son commune, monks, nuns and Buddhists inside and outside the district.

PagodaGiap Vinh, also known as Vanh Pagoda, was built in the center of Vanh village long ago to worship Buddha. Over time, the pagoda was destroyed, leaving only a high mound of earth. In order to meet the spiritual and religious needs of local Buddhists, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 5019 dated October 20, 2010 approving the restoration of Vanh Pagoda.

As soon as the pagoda was restored, the Vanh pagoda's board of trustees established a dharma center, gathering Buddhists and people with a heart for Buddhism into an organization quite early. In the past, although there was no abbot, the dharma center still held regular activities, coordinating with the board of trustees to carry out Buddhist activities at the pagoda.

After 10 years of restoration and construction, the Vanh Pagoda campus is nearly 5,000 m2There have been many new constructions such as the three-door gate, the main hall, the monk's house, the Quan The Am platform, the spirit house... Although many items have not been completed because some constructions are under construction, Vanh Pagoda has a beautiful and spacious landscape.

In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, the monks performed a blessing ceremony to enshrine the ancient stele right in front of the main hall of Giap Vinh pagoda. This stele was created during the Nguyen Dynasty, about 0.8 m high and 0.6 m wide, the stele tells about the birth of this pagoda. After a period of loss, it was kept at Phuc My pagoda, Yen Son commune (Do Luong).old beerwas invited to the temple for display and preservation.

Also at this ceremony, the organizers announced the ceremony.inputGiap Vinh pagoda for Venerable Thich Quang Tien Nhan, secular name Tran Van Dung (born in 1990), hometown Vinh Linh district (Quang Tri), with permanent residence in Gia Lai province. Venerable Thich Quang Tien Nhan studied at Dieu Phap pagoda, Binh Thanh district, Ho Chi Minh City.

At the ceremony, Venerable Thich Quang Tien Nhan was advised by the monks (resident of Dieu Phap pagoda, in charge of the Buddhist Sangha of Do Luong district) and promised to do his best to contribute to the cause of propagating the Dharma, together with the board of trustees and local Buddhists to build Giap Vinh pagoda to develop more and more.
