Commemoration of the 228th anniversary of the death of Emperor Quang Trung
(Baonghean.vn) - It has become a tradition that every year on the 29th of the 7th lunar month, people from everywhere come to the Quang Trung Temple Relic Site at Dung Quyet Mountain, Trung Do Ward, (Vinh City) to offer incense to commemorate the great contributions of the hero Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue.
On September 16 (July 29, Canh Ty year), at the Emperor Quang Trung Temple Relic Site, a memorial ceremony was held to commemorate the 228th anniversary of the death of the Cloth Hero.Tay Son - Nguyen Hue.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee; Colonel Thai Duc Hanh - Deputy Chief of Politics of Military Region IV, Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Bat Van - Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, Tran Ngoc Tu - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee, representatives of departments, branches and a large number of people and tourists from near and far.

Nguyen Hue was born in 1753 in Tay Son village, Phu Ly district, Quy Nhon prefecture, now Kien My village, Tay Son district, Binh Dinh province. He died in 1792 in Phu Xuan. He fought heroically for 20 years from the age of 18, conquering the South and pacifying the North. He ascended the throne as Emperor, taking the reign name Quang Trung at the age of 36.

Quang Trung - Nguyen Huewas a key figure in the Tay Son peasant uprising that overthrew the Nguyen Lords in the South. He and his brothers Nguyen Nhac and Nguyen Lu, who were called the Tay Son brothers by the people at that time, successfully led the Tay Son peasant uprising. This was the only successful peasant uprising in Vietnamese history and established a Monarchy, ending more than 200 years of bloody civil war between the two feudal groups Trinh - Nguyen, the conflict that caused the division of the two parts of the country (across the Gianh River), defeating the Later Le Dynasty and the invasions of the Siamese army from the South and the Qing army from the North.

According to historical records, Nguyen Hue - Quang Trung saw clearly the strategic position of Dung Quyet land, issued an edict to build Phuong Hoang - Trung Do citadel to establish the capital in Nghe An. Unfortunately, King Quang Trung suddenly passed away on July 29, Nham Ty year (1792), so he did not have time to move the capital from Phu Xuan to Phuong Hoang Trung Do.
Temple of Emperor Quang Trungin Nghe An was built on the top of Dung Quyet mountain, Trung Do ward, Vinh city, this is a spiritual cultural work, a place for people and tourists from all over to worship the sacred temple, burn incense to express their respect and gratitude to the wise Emperor.

The 228th anniversary of the death of Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue was solemnly held according to traditional rituals, to commemorate and show gratitude to the national hero who fought against foreign invaders to unify the country; to propagate, promote and develop spiritual and cultural values associated with service and tourism development activities; to meet the spiritual needs of the people.
